I guess Carine Roitfeld has been pushing this one a bit. Last season shows she was everywhere wearing this big floppy hat. Interesting to see this trend emerge now.
I love to see hats becoming a trend again outside of the vintage community. Hats are intimidating to wear, especially when so few wear them, but I really do find they look lovely on many people.
Most of these runway ones are a bit floppy for my taste, but those Temperley toppers are divinity.
I just saw the movie The Changeling with Angelina Jolie and LOVED the hats she wore in it! I think they're called "cloche" hats. I'm totally into the style from the 20's now that I've seen her in that movie! I feel like I look silly or overdressed in hats, though
perhaps this could be a bit of a reaction to protecting one's skin and looking younger?
i think it's great that we've got more hat options out there..
the more hats are out there, the less silly or subversive people will feel about wearing them and we'll see more and more creativity and variation in terms of design...
maybe i'll pull out one or two of the hats that i've got in my closet...
will certainly be more fashionable than a baseball cap...
