I've been noticing lately some hipster girls have been wearing Captain style hats. Not sure how much it'll catch on but I'm definitely seeing them more and more.
I don't mind this look but these hats are very "obviously trendy" which is somewhat unappealing.

I've had a captain's hat I bought down the beach for a few years (I'm in Melbourne) and used to wear it around town, but I haven't worn it for a good year or so. Never thought it would become a trend as such.

I have one and I love them. :ninja:

not exactly a captain hat but something on the lines...that made me wish I had a captain hat:

always into military-style captains hats but not really into the straight white/gold love boat/nautical thing, as it seems a bit more 'try hard' statement than personal expression in many cases. but the style itself i've always liked.

i like the simple types of military hats, none with quite a lot of detail.

Never tried the captain hat, but when I was a lot younger, sailor hats were all the rage.

I like the captain's hat--looks good on some people.

These captain hats kind of throw me back to naval design. I've seen pants that have sailor buttons to them. I've always seemed to find sailor looks to be amazing on women. Think about a nice top paired with some cute sailor-style bellbottom pants. I've always seemed to like this look about as much as the classic school girl look. Someone may try and make naval-inspired looks hot. It's been done before, but I'm talking more along the lines of sailor inspirations. Most of fashion is about inspiration. So I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes along with a fashion movement towards sailor clothing in addition with these Captain Hats.

Ha this is funny to me, my family has a lot of these style hats, they're into sailing. I'm not sure it's a captain hat, though, it must have a different name. I'll ask. Anyway I know you get one when you're made commodore of the yacht club.
