They usually do 1 per continent. Sometimes a client ask for exclusivity.
And when a client change the design it’s really like a new dress.

The 1 per continent was meaningful when social media didn’t exist because the circles weren’t the same but with social media, the world can see.

That being said designers are very careful about this.

Really? I thought that Valli was like Vauthier where it's like a couture house, but on a smaller scale. They are permanent members after all. I always thought that only the correspondant members (Italians, Lebanese, etc.) that had looser rules due to their status.

Perhaps a higher placement of the bow would have helped.

They all goes by the same rules because they more or less sells to the same clients. But the real thing about Giambattista Valli is that his designs are similar anyway. If you want the princess moment with tulles everywhere, the options aren’t going to be insane…

The clientele force them to have the same rules pretty much…Even designers who are more clients-centric like the Lebanese.

And those events are very much organized anyway. The clients talks and houses try to find a way to not have « diplomatic issues ».

I love how the Chanel atelier adapted the looks for him. They actually look better than one would expect.

I don't know, since Chanel never really fledged-out a menswear identity per se, adapting the design of those jackets 1:1 to fit a male client still feels a bit like a man wearing a woman's jacket - Especially when it's one made in pale lilac-colored tweed.

There are designers and brands with a point of view more suitable for genderless design, like when Kanye West wore a printed Celine silk shirt by Phoebe Philo, but there's something about the fabrics and the hand of making in Chanel that just feels very 'madame', no matter who wears it.
