Erin said:My roommate has mentioned on several occassions that when she's bucks-up (which won't be for a while), she'd like get her hair glossed. I want to say she referred to it w/ a different word/term, but glossing seems pretty accurate.
Her graduation and birthday is coming up, so I think it'd be a good idea for one of her gifts to be a glossing... but I'm not sure if I should just BUY her gloss, or buy her a trip to the salon to get her hair glossed. Of course it'd be more special to get her hair glossed at a salon, but if it's easiest and most useful, and has nearly the same outcome, to get an at-home treatment, that may be best...
Any suggestions?
slocal_grl said:You have to apply some kind of heat to it either by sitting out in the sun, hair dryer, heater, or hot towel opposed to going under a dryer at the salon. As long you can apply heat to it, it'll come out just as nice as if you had it done at a salon. You'll be giving her the gift of glossy hair all year long. I'm sure she'll love this product, as do I and many of my friends. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
luxmode said:I tried Clairol Radiance Moisture-Rich Colorgloss (without heat) and I left in on for a 1/2 hour and nothing happened...no shine. So do you think it's the brand I tried or the fact that I didn't apply heat? How long do you have to apply the heat for and would a hot towel really do the trick? I can't imagine using a blow dryer for a 1/2 hour...
slocal_grl said:Hey luxmode! Well, I'm not familiar with Clairol Radiance so I can't speculate on what the problem was. Not all glossing products are created equal even if used the exact same way. Some products work way better than others. With Matrix Prizms, all it takes is 15-20 minutes. I've used a hot towel before and it actually works, but its such a drag to heat it up every 2 minutes If your going to use a blow dryer you want to put a plastic bag around your hair and poke a few holes in it and apply heat from the hair dryer that way. I think the best way to do it at home is to sit out in the sun. Thats always been the most hassle free for me and its generated the best results.
luxmode said:Thanks for the tips slocal_grl! I still have a few applications of the Clairol left so I might try it again w/ the heat. Clairol didn't mention anything about heat in the directions though...that's why I'm wondering if it's the brand . BTW, when are you selling the Matrix Prizms on ebay?
