Summer Fashion with Heidi Klum on Oprah.

Heidi Klum has become a huge force in the fashion world as a supermodel, jewelry designer and Project Runway host. But when it comes to swimsuits, Heidi thinks less is more. "The smaller, the better," she says. "I don't like to wear too much. When there's no person in sight, it's coming off."

Heidi is sharing the hottest swimsuit fashions for summer, but says not to worry if a certain trend isn't right for you. "I think you should wear whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable," she says. "So anything kind of goes, really."

Heidi says the pink and orange mix of this bandeau bikini by H&M's Marimekko "I was thinking about what is in this season and definitely, it's a lot of color—bold or prints," she says. The bikini bottoms adjust at the sides to fit different body shapes, and the price tag can fit almost any budget.

Swimsuit: Marimekko at H&M, $14.90/piece

Shoes: Nine West: Elettra (orange patent) sandals, $79

Hat: Hat Attack, $32

Tote: Target, $19.99

Following the bright color trend, this green one-piece with underwire bra by Karla Colletto will help you stand out in a crowd. "Neon is in," Heidi says. To cover up, a sarong is a great option. "I pick up sarongs wherever I go," Heidi says. "I just was in India and picked up beautiful fabrics."

Swimsuit: Karla Colletto, $244

Sarong: Calypso, $55

Sunglasses: Pucci, $285

Shoes: Vince Camuto Brandy sandal, $110

To go from the beach to lunch, Heidi likes to have a cardigan with her. "You can wear it with jeans or wear it to the beach if you want to go have a little drink at the bar," she says.

Cardigan: J.Crew, $59.50

Swimsuit: Xhilaration from Target $14.99/piece

Pants: Juicy Couture, $118

Bag: Hat Attack, $68

A tunic can also cover you up without hiding your style. "Shay Todd is one of my favorite designers for the beach," Heidi says.

Bikini: Shay Todd, $235

Tunic: Shay Todd, $240

Bag: Lilly Pulitzer, $158

Another way to conceal is with a caftan, which Heidi says to choose in bold, bright colors. The deep V-neck will still show your suit underneath, but the length adds sophistication. Heidi also has another secret to look camera-ready. "I always wear flowers," Heidi says. "It's really beautiful in pictures too."

Caftan: Trina Turk, $152

Swimsuit: Shay Todd, $334

For a young and playful look, Heidi chose a gold-striped bikini and a flirty top. She says it's great for a woman in her 20s, but it isn't reserved for only young women. "I think it's whatever you feel like," she says. "Whatever shape you are."

Top: BCX from Macy's, $38

Swimsuit: Old Navy, $24.50/piece

Bag: Lauren Merkin, $195

Hat: Eric Javits, $290

Shoes: Sam Edelman "Gillian", $69.95

Heidi says this Bohemian chic style looks great on a woman in her 30s. "Cowboy hats are very in. I think hats are important, period, because you want to cover your face from the sun," she says.

Swimsuit: Karla Colletto, $209

Tunic: Scoop, $198

Hat: Target $16.95

Bag: H&M, $5.90

Shoes: Old Navy, $19.50

Necklaces: Old Navy, all under $20

For a woman in her 40s, Heidi chose a suit with good bra support and a chic sarong that can be worn around the waist or wrapped around the neck to become a dress.

Swimsuit: Tommy Bahama, $120

Sarong: Scoop, $58

Shoes: Nine West, $69

When Oprah hits the beach, she says her all-time favorite suit is the Norma Kamali "Bill" swimsuit. At $350, it's pricey—but Oprah says she's had hers for 10 years. "You can wear it season after season after season, so I don't care what's in or out," she says.

Heidi found an alternative to the Norma Kamali suit with the '40s-inspired Miraclesuit. For $129, it has a lower price tag but a similar ruching detail to strategically conceal problem areas.

If strutting by the pool in an itsy bitsy bikini isn't your thing, Heidi has a secret for looking great in your summer ensembles. The Yummie Tummie tank is a body-contouring shaper that slims your midsection. "I wish that I would have known about this when I had my children because it kind of sucks it all in and keeps it nice," Heidi says.

Yummie Tummies come in 10 colors and, unlike other body shapers, are meant to be seen. "No more muffin tops," Oprah says.

Available at Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus; approximate value $62;

Flip-flops are a summer staple—but now they can do much more than just keep your feet cool. FitFlops use patent-pending technology to challenge your leg muscles with each step. "So while you're walking, you're doing a little workout," Heidi says.

Available at Macy's, Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret and Bliss Spas; approximate value $49.99–$69.99; 800-BUY-MACY; thefitflop.com
