Help With Modeling Contract!

so my friend is in the middle of a contract and wants to get out. he signed an exclusive contract for 2 years and still has the majority of it to go. hes not getting a lot of work and wants to find a better agency but doesnt know what to do. is there any way out of this?

He should consult a lawyer with questions like that. Once you've signed a contract, aside from dying, it's pretty tough to get out of it! Unless there was some fine print that says otherwise, he may be stuck.

Did the contract state that he could only sign with once agency? Lots of models/actors have multiple agents.

its an exclusive contract so he cant sign to more than one agency.

Read over everything in the contract. Is there any clause providing for termination? Sometimes such clauses exist to allow either party to terminate the contract in certain circumstances / if 1 party is in breach of the terms of the agreement or conditions precedent.

^Yeah, there should be a right to terminate. There may be conditions (ie: you don't get any job offers with a period of time) but it should be there. Read over the contract again.
