High Heels and Jeans

I think it's a classic too.
I think it can look great. and as brokenenglish said, it can both be used in terms of dressing the jeans up, or the shoes down. I tend to prefer a pair of special shoes, in many cases a pair of chunky plateau pumps since the jeans are so 'normal' and IMO need something to spice them up. Especially if you are going out. Which I am in most cases when I'm wearing heels..

it's a classic look - a style not a fashion

Just what I came here to say ;)

And I like it ... sometimes you want to wear jeans and be a little dressy, say in the evening ... or you want to wear jeans & be tall ...

I think this as a style has definately taken off as jeans become more acceptable work wear in many places, as shoes have become more and more of a focus in style and designers and also skinny jeans which allow them to be shown off. I wear jeans with heels occasionally. I'm trying to get into it more but I don't necessarily wear them with dressy tops. I have that loose triblend American Apparel top in grey and i love wearing it with slim fit jeans and louboutin wedges. I think it's fun to mix up the combinations.

I like wearing heels with jeans because it gives me height. It dosen't make me feel too casual with just wearing jeans, but not too dressy.

I love heels and jeans! The right type of jean of course as well as the right shoe. Some can clash but overall I'd have to say, I adore the pairing. I love to do a dark skinny jean with either an ankle strap platform or a skinny heel/t-strap shoe.

I used to do this all the time about 2-3 years ago...now I just wear jeans w/shoes that I want to show off...I'm so sick of wearing long, flare/wide-leg jeans that cover my shoes...you know the kind of style that used to be popular when Jessica Simpson was a "style icon" hahaha...ugghh and I used to dress like her too...w/casual tops, jeans, and heels

I think this style definitely has to be done right: for example, straight/slim jeans (not necessarily skinny, b/c imo not everyone can pull them off, myself included) w/heels & a someone dressier top, maybe a casual blazer/jacket/sweater looks cute

I love wearing high heels with jeans, it makes my legs look longer and thinnier... and it looks very classy and sexy to me!
but as it has already been said, it's important to choose the right pumps, the right jeans and a good top...

I love jeans and high heels. Makes me taller and my legs longer, hence more confidence.

So true...it's a style. Not a trend at all. I personally love this. It's a great way to dress when you're out with your friends. Not a full on skirt or dress but jeans plus heels tto(thetotaloutfit) looks so chic.

Yeah--what other shoes would you wear with jeans? Flats & skinny jeans look gross, IMHO.

What exactly is there to understand, rly? And why must one either dress up or dress down only? How incredibly limiting and mind-numbingly dull, tbh.

I prefer this style with dark-washed, raw denim. Looks great with a wedge, chunky heel, slim heel, pump, bootie, boots - anything really. It's all a matter of proportion and texture, I think.

That sounds really cool. I'm tired of the whole trite dressy tank+boot cut jeans+strappy or black heels and off to the club look, but your outfit sounds cute and unique.

i absolutely adore this combination.

i found the pic on my notebook and unfortunately i don't know where i got it from anymore, so i can't credit it. if this should be a problem please pm me and i will delete it.

I love this look, I'm of the generation where jeans are suitable for 99% of occasions and can be dressed up or down; as for me jeans + heels= dressed up or smart/casual depending on what's paired with it.

trashed out faded jeans with frayed hems + a badass pair of giuseppe zannottis....this never looks bad, and i love the very rock and roll vibe of it!

It gives the jeans a more classic, feminine, glamourous look. I love it but thats because i hate sneakers and so..

x

I love high heels with jeans, and agree its a classic look more than a trend, although perhaps its been more popular due to the popularity of skinny jeans. i think skinny jeans and heels is a great look for a night out where you dont want to be too dressy.
