High Heels With Shorts?

I don't get it, what's so wrong and tacky about wearing heels with shorts? You can wear just about anything with heels. A look shouldn't be brushed away because of what elements make it up; it all depends on how the wearer puts everything together and if he or she pulls it off, simple as that.

If heels make your legs look longer and you love it, then go for it. Nothing tacky about it, IMO.

I personally like that look, I think tailored shorts work best but you can also do a smart casual look too with heels.

I agree. I wear pumps with tights and baggy cuffed shorts. Though I can definitely understand how it might be considered tacky, I try to go for the more classy look.

it's a matter of proportions for me.. as in most outfits, I guess. I think it looks horrid when the shorts are super tight or super short.. and the heels are too strappy.. it kind of screams 80s hooker to me , but you know, the same heels with some baggy but perfectly cut and proportioned shorts with pockets or at least some more detailing might not look all that bad.. or perhaps the same thight and short shorts with flats instead of heels... I don't know.. I guess it's the combination what makes it look atrocious.. but I do believe a tacky person can always manage to make things look tacky no matter how refined they appear to be on a hanger. and vice versa.

I can pull off this look, but (unless it's extremely hot) I usually make sure my top is conservative and wear high-heeled boots else everyone is staring like I am a wh*re. I still get those stares with the boots, but 30% of people staring is easier to deal with every day than 80%. If it is boiling outside I will risk the 80% of people giving me death glares, but I still find it odd how switching from flat shoes to heels can change others' perception of you so much! Sometimes I wonder what they would say if they knew I was completely the opposite of what they were judging me to be based upon my shoes.
