High Heels With Shorts?

I was a pureyor of this trend a long time ago and I loved it. I was able to pull it off despite being curvy and short (not fat but I'm only 5'6") and I'm giving it another go, now that I understand fashions a lot better.

i'm from singapore, and the weather here is 30 degrees all round, so shorts are a very practical solution to beating the heat. recently, (i think i was inspired by mischa barton... - no kidding! ) i experimented with a pair of cuffed, mambo shorts and more tailored but not so structured , more soft and flowy.i tend to go for the low heel shoes, preferable with peeptoe, or pointyheels

I think it is a very chic look when it is done with a less structured short and a closed or peep-toe pump.

I'm only 5'0, but quite petit. I love shorts, but I wear them with heels, they make my short legs look longer. Here peeptoe heels paired with my new shorts and shirt in one (romper/playsuit or whatever it's called!)

I prefer shorts with flats or low heeled pumps..... I think they look a little tacky with stilletos......

I once saw a photo of Elle Macpherson wearing it, and she looked amazing (surprise, surprise). I think it can be done, but by tall people

Plus, not everybody can look like Elle Macpherson...sigh

In my opinion, heels look better than flats with shorts... Unless you have very nice, long, skinny legs, flats will just make your legs look chubbier. Heels will make them look longer and skinnier. But then again, very short and tight shorts, such as hot pants and similar will in most cases just look sluttier with heels.

I HATE this look. Unless the person has great legs and the shorts are longer and baggier then usual.

Especially with the whole wedge-shoe thing. Oh man, how much I hate those shoes.

I love this look but whether or not it works, depends greatly on what styles the heels and shorts are. For example stilettos never seem to work and other more formal styles. I think the shoe needs to be relaxed and of course the shorts can't be skanky or it will obviously ruin it all..

Agreed, this is one of my favorite things to wear in the summer. I usually wear them with closed heels. I love wearing heels as much as I can, my mom doesn't understand it. I think opting for heels instead of flats makes a casual outfit more interesting.
