I've noticed a lot of high-necked tops and dresses in the fall 05 collections, due in part I'm sure to the Edwardiana/Mod trends that made their way into fashion. Some are wrapped and bow-tied, others are delicately ruffled, and some are just plain high necks........

Great thread Spike!..... Yes, high necks are def making a strong and bold comeback.....

High necks are very sexy.... Chic and masculine......

I agree Kimkhuu, there is something very sexy about a high, fitted neck.......

n-i-c-e!!!! Only thing is that much as I like high necks, it's difficult to wear when the weather is hot all the time. So only where I'm going to a/c places.

It takes a certain physique to wear high-necks though.
I feel that if you have an ample bosom, high-necks may not be that flattering.

I love these! I have always felt especially chic in a black tneck sweater or a coat with a high collar.

sigh, i've been looking for a high neck white ruffled edwardian/victorian blouse for about a year now... something really dandish tho for a woman

I adore high necked blouses, especially if they have short puffy sleeves...one of which I am wearing right now. ;) I think they're sweet but subtle and sexy at the same time.

 me 2!!!!!! I  high necked blouses!!!!!!!!!!

utopia, that wouldn't be something you chased all over London would it? ;)

Also love high necks, well spotted Spike. Have a great black turtleneck, I find that I'm well endowed in my chest but I suppose it depends on what kind of turtleneck one is wearing. I wear a plain black one and feel quite chic in it.

Count me in on this one, too  Love it!!

Great descriptions above. "Chic and masculine", "subtle and sexy"... couldn't agree more :flower:

Cool thread,Spike! I love high collars, myself. Something about it that adds a mysterious level of drama....and severity. Even in its most frilled attributes it can take the "girliness" out of a shirt.

It's an elegant, dignified look, but not for the round of face or short of neck. I look like a Playmobil figure when I wear one  so I guess I'll be sitting this one out.

I can still be a spectator though...Veronique Branquinho's always good for some high necks:
