Hippie and/or Bohemian Chic

I go with bohemian chic every now and then... As for hippie, sorry, but not for me...

I'm not fully into the hippie look, but i like wearing bandanas every once in a while and i'm loving big sunglasses.

:: laughs :: This is one third of my university! haha. There are always little street vendors with lots of "bohemian" wear. Most people are usually either a) trendy (when it's not raining), B) college casual - jeans, sweatshirt, or c) bohemian chic

I'm personally not fond of it, it's not my style, but I see it all the time...

MK Olsen's "everyday" style is hippie chic, and I love it sooo much!
 She looks so pwetty there! [/b][/quote]
Her style is soooooooo cute!

I agree that MK's style is great. Does anyone else have any pictures with this style? They can be anyone, of course--I don't mean just more MK pictures. :flower:

I'd describe my style as "starbucks bohemian"-because I love all the hippy-chic stuff but I would never throw it all on together so i mix it with stuff like diesel/seven jeans, classic tops, etc. I could never pull off a full on hippy-chic look...

this is kind of what i mean-my style icon, Sienna Miller-

i think you described that style beautifully and those photos of sienna miller are perfect examples of that style...

"starbucks bohemian" is a great way to describe that...
it's the UGGS... :flower:

a more bohemian girl...say KATE MOSS...

would wear that exact look with the vivienne westwood PIRATE BOOTS...(see pic in shoe thread)...

that's the difference...
great post impossible princess...
thank you... :flower:

i enjoy kind of vintagey vibed clothing... but it seems like everyone is doing it now and its getting overdone. :-\
i think i saw this look on every girl in the east village this weekend...

the only other look i saw was punk...lots of multi colour hair...

:woot:

I saw a lovely girl at the park today with a very bohemian style. She pulled it off very well. It was very appealing to the eye until she lifted up her arms and had more armpit hair than my boyfriend :yuk:

This may seem odd but I find bohemian and hippie styles look best on very thin women.

Ladies that are heavier set always look better in more tailored classy outfits with more solid colors. I find that they look kind of frummpy/bad with bohemian and hippie styles.

I usually mix my stlyes. I'll wear my poncho with a cool pair or Irregualr choice shoes and a celine purse or chanel sunglasses. I like mixing the styles together. I find it suits me :innocent:

Thanks SoftGrey.... :flower:

Here are some more pics if anyone wants to see-I wish I could actually post them but having trouble with that:

CelineChic I think you maybe right about having to be very skinny to pull off this sort of style-I don't know why but it just looks more natural?!

I looovveee that leather jacket she's wearing...SO cute! :flower:
I like her diverse outfits and it's nice to see her using and reusing certain pieces in her outfits, instead of just wearing something once and then shoving it into the closet. Pretty

hmmm...

yeah,,,but i'm not as scrawny..she needs a sandwich...imo...

While I am certainly not rail thin, "bohemian" basically describes my style. Typical outfit: Pink & white polka-dot tunic-y blouse, jeans, Chanel scarf, big earrings from India, lavander clogs. Even though this trend is "out", I don't really care. Jade Jagger is still my style icon.
