Student Chic

Absolute crap. I had to put up with this look all through high school, and I don't think it's ever going to go away around here. But I guess that's okay; I'll keep looking different from all of them. B)

Does this mean people will stop calling me a prep now that the real thing is in style?

Strangely true, this article. It has become the trend, and I embrace the change (especially for men...and for women)...I've always had a penchant for men who wear button downs and polos, so it's nice to see more guys wearing such items (even if I already have an SO who's been dressing like that for years), and I'm glad there are a few more places doing this look these days, as I've been dressing like that for years, but now that it's become a "trend" there are more varities floating around, so I can find better deals or different colours.

My collar was just up earlier today. LOL.

And I have a terrible penchant for blazers and polos. Haha. But I can never wear head-to-toe prep - I'll usually try to wear it with some unexpected pieces, but that might become the "norm" now, according to that article, because people are wearing these "prep" pieces with some of their older items...haha. Maybe my individuality before has now become not-so-individual. haha!

Wow, this is not a good sign.

Uh oh. There goes my last drop of respect for Dior...

call me boring but i love the prep look... least it works so much better than people trying to pull off fashion trends and looking all wrong for it... grunge was among the worst of fashion "trends" and can only be truly carried off by few...

Very true, lol, especially because those who couldn't pull it off were called "poseurs". haha. I never really got into that look - classic looks are generally more forgiving, anyway.

That's "prep", but more along the lines of "Britney-Spears-Hit-Me-Baby-One-More-Time" school girl...not very classic...more...skanky.

LOL.

Dior doesn't impress me much these days...and that doesn't help their overall look in my eyes.

You have a point, I think.

well...i'm kind of glad though that all those kids who have no idea what punk is won't be dressing like little wannabe punks anymore...it really is annoyiong when someone wears a tshirt with a band on it that they don't even know...kind of ********...

but i don't think anyone who isn't an all-american or english-looking (very white and usually blonde) looks very good in that prep look...

i know i don't...and i'm southern italian...it just looks like i'm wearing someone else's clothes...and i really don't like little animals embroidered on my clothes...

Could someone please show more pictures of this look?

This Dior thing is just.. :yuk: And this trend hasn't exactly hit my country yet (we are kinda slow here)

My yearbook is full of them... :innocent:

at my school there was a girl called Sara who had better style than kate and sienna put together

she was just AMAZING......she always looked fantasticly understated and beautiful even is she was having the worst day.

i must track her down and get some photos of her

I kinda like that lime green Dior ribbon belt.... but anyway I think Dior looks better punk or theatrical! I've been trying to dress dramatic, but how "theatrical" can a 19yr-old straight boy be...humm must search!
