I'm shocked there isn't a House thread already, considering how the show has absolutely skyrocketed in popularity!

I've been following the show since around the time season 2 started through a friend's recommendation, and IMO it's the best medical drama on television. Hugh Laurie is brilliant, and even if the mystery-of-the-week is a snooze, the scathing wit makes up for it. All the characters are very much flawed and I can't wait to see how they develop as the series progresses. The only problem with a show like House is that it does have a shelf-life and I'm praying they don't milk the show for all its worth and destroy the quality in the process.

I have to say I'm not a huge House fan. I like the episodes individually, but I find they are all too similar and follow the exact same sequence: someone has a rare disease, it is misdiagnosed to the point where they almost kill the patient and the hospital administrator gets mad at House, then at the last second they save the patient. It gets dull after awhile, at least to me.

i think the formula is the same....
but that becomes part of the appeal....

you dont watch to find out if they are going to diagnose it correctly....
because that is (almost) always a given....

you watch for the subtleties and humour of each episode....
the interactions between them all.....
and the connections they form to the patients....

i find it brilliant.....and i'm not even one for medical shows normally....

Funny, I never heard of this show till yesterday, and I was wondering why I didn't know about it before. Kinda reminded me of CSI and that kind of show. Not really my cup of tea but it doesn't look all that bad

I recently found out about House M.D. and now I'm addicted and they dont show it here so the only way I can watch it online.
But I'm inlove,although I agree this show has a very obvious formula it is so witty that I dont care if its slighty repetitive.
AND Doctor Chase/Jesse Spencer is so damn hot,gorgeous hair! <3

Not to mention this show has resparked my ambition to be a doctor!!

I love this show

I have Season 1 on DVD, but haven't been following Season 2 on tv, which is a shame. Although the station that it's on here sort of messes around with the episodes, which is annoying.

House is awesome! Yea, the formula is redundant and predictable, as was said about me, that isn't what draws me in. I'd venture to say the 'medical mysteries' aren't even what the show is about; it's just what House does, who he is. What the show is about is very much the interactions, the wit, the flaws: that formula I love.
So what's the deal with all of House's team gone? Will they be back?
