the next week, you travel to LA, and some other guy is wearing the same thing..
That's from the street & trickle-up effect.
But definitely trends are also inspired from fashion magazines & the runway (trickle-down effect), esp. the way things are being styled. What I like about japanese magazines like Vivi & JJ are the way they are styled (esp. the hard/soft look), and the fact that their fashion magazines host their own fashion shows that show real-time trends that are happening at the moment. Not just forecasting into the future. If I were at the fashion show, I would want to go shopping more after looking at all the clothes.
When I have my own clothing line, I want it to be like that. Tasteful fashion for the masses.!
