How do you organize your closet?

and how do your organize it ?

My closet has lots of jeans in it. And lots of graphic Ts. I'm really sick of them actually haha. But I just moved to a new, really big, house, but the closet, is soo tiny. It's actually a walk-in closet, but ... well you walk in one step and thats it. It's really small. So there isn't much space. [and its dark]. So i really wanna to shopping soon, to get some nice new clothes.

I really like fashionable sorta stuff, you know Tommy H., Guess, Dex and stuff from stores like Aritzia and stuff.
Any suggestions of stores?

I'm a big fan of pairing the usual with weird stuff. My closet is arranged in a rainbow-like affair. I wear jeans pretty much everyday and to break that monotony I tend to purchase lots of funky accessories and shoes. I think my closet (except for the jeans) consists of mostly small designers from the local boutiques in Waikiki and Honolulu, weird British shoes, ethnic jewelry I pick up on my travels and little quirky pieces from each season's offerings.

My closet is walk in and is arranged by designer and size

Pants on the bottom. Shirts on the top. Sweaters folded on shelves.

And all my things hang on wooden hangers. I don't know why but I don't like having plastic and wire hangers.

Everything is color coordinated, all shorts , jeans, dresses, skirts are in one area.
Then spaghetti straps, tub tops, long sleeve, short sleeve, sleeveless are all in order.

Then all my shoes are in order by designer on my shelves.

Then in the middle of the closet I have a big dresser type of thing with all my personals.

shirts on top arranged in a special order and "Bottoms (pants,skirts, ect.)" on the bottom. Shoes in order by designers/label.

no wire hangers for me too ! LOL all wooden, tops on top, bottoms below, jeans folded everything color coordinated and shoes neatly in shelves.... everything else is folded, i love our house but we need more closet space.... i had a walk in growing up so this is hard!

I re-organize my closet every few months, but usually it's always a mess
it's supposed to be organized according to type of clothing (ie: tees, jeans, dresses etc.) and then by colour, but it rarely is

um my clost is a total mess, mostly ti has boxes of fabric in it , and a few of my designs and my vintage tuxedo,.

i put every thing in my mdoer/art nuevo chest wich is aranged by type of clotehs

well i have quite a big wardrobe(sliding mirrored) but not big enough. I cant wait to immigrate to a bigger house with a huge walk-in wardrobe

All my work or going out dresses are in one section, mostly long dresses. I store them in suit carriers(for saving space)

Middle top half(bottom half is shared by my two sons)

All my tops (colour cordinated off course!)
Jeans and dress trousers grouped by colour and type.

Shoes/sandals (in boxes and under dresses in suit carrier)

Handbags all in dustbags under drawer(too many to separate and not enough space).

i go through and straighten up my closet often. i don't know why , but i think i just can't help myself. i have my church apparel first by separates (top:sleeveless to long and then skirts: knee to long) and then my dresses are in the same order. From there I put up my everday attire and then evening attire. Every category (church, everyday, evening) all have their own sections. Jackets and coats have their own section in their specific order. my mom is the color coordinator but i go by how i feel. Ya know? Am i feeling like a sleeveless top or a long skirt? weird huh?

I too sport wooden hangers. I am such an organized neat freak that everything is arranged according to color (light to dark), style (blouses, dresses, suits, pants coats...), etc... I have shelves that hold my folded jeans, handbags and such, and I have a shoe rack as well. Everything else is arranged neatly in drawers. My husband and I are fortunate enough to have separate closets in our bedroom, and I have arranged his clothing the same way as mine.

I have my YSL, Paul Smith, Dior, Armani and Gucci suits arranged on a clothes rail...my chest of drawers is stuffed with jeans and t-shirts...my dress trousers are folded in a chest...my shirts are aranged in colour-blocks in my wardrobe...my cheap suits are splayed all over my room...shoes just go in a line...

Out of curiosity, is it better to fold or hang jeans?

It depends what look you want to go for: if you want no creases then hang them, if you want creases then stuff them into the lining of your sofa and sit on it.
