How Much Would You Be Willing To Spend?

Mmm,up to $1000 for non exotic leathers pair,......for exotic leathers...could be more.....

The most I have spent was 1200$ for my Manolo snakeskin silver Sudy shoes, but they are worth it

basically it all depends on the label, quality, design. if i like it and can afford it (and isnt ridiculously overpriced) id get it :flower:

Funny to look back at old posts considering the mega-bucks in Loubies Leyla now has.

She probably doesn't find her shoes overpriced since she has bought them. And I agree with her.
Of course it would be great if you could buy Louboutin for 1 $, but you can't, so if you love the design and can afford them then why not?
Sometimes I think about what I could have bought if I hadn't spent so much money on my clothes and shoes. I could have had a bigger appartment etc. But then I try to immagine what life would have been WITHOUT my beloved shoes and bags! Well, it wouldn't have been worthless but definitely much more boring!!!

i just spent £391.50 on a pair of lanvins  and would've spent the full £435 they were (there's the tiniest little barely visible snag/dent that i got 10% off for), i just love them so much

but it wasn't easy to say the least, i felt soooo guilty and i had to work myself up to do it. so that's my current limit for shoes but i'm sure it'll rise as shoe prices go up.

1k, a pair of Hermes laceups, ugh, Im wearing them now, they're divina. I want the 6k croc Jonny boots, but, seriously, I cant jusitfy that.

i'm the exact same way.. two friends which is the same age as me recently bought a sailboat together, they paid a bit over 1,5k each, and made me think, "that's my bal, viv liberty-tee and pirate boots", but then again.. you can't wear a boat, can you? ^_^ and it sure ain't made out of super-soft leather..

Around 600 is my max for most shoes, but I'll spend up to 1k if they are something out of this world, or for boots.

If I had 1000$ to spend on shoes I would custom make a pair of my own design.

If you do that you would spend at least 75% on the making and there would be very little left for materials.

to reply to echoes and zarina
yes it is funny to look back but i still wouldnt spend the amount of 550 Euros on a pair of Le Silla.. they just arent worth it. the shoes arent well made and are as hard as rock :(.
i must add at this point that luckily i get my Louboutins at an excellent price through my job but otherwise i would still pay full price for them because i really believe they are worth it. thats what im doing with my manolos and what i used to do with allm y Jimmy Choos
however, i tend to spend more money on classics/shoes i can wear more than a few times. i rarely buy a "seasonal" shoe like for instance the YSL platform this season ... one wouldnt see such a shoe in my wardrobe as even at "only" around 500 Euros its a shoe i would wear once or twice.
i also generally do not go for major prints. i always invest in basics:
lots of blacks, nudes, beige, white, etc. and also some core styles such as versatile pumps, mid wedges, high wedges, platforms, etc and a balance between open toe and closed toes

IMO a shoe is more important than a bag. it can make or break an outfit.
even though i love my bags, i can carry the same bag for a week but i cant do the same with my shoes... so they do need to be well chosen to fit in my wardrobe.
i've always been more casual with my clothes and dont mind wearing anything off the high street (in fact love all my topshop and H&M) but i cant wear shoes from the high street except the topshop ballet flats which i have in every single colour and only cost me 20/25£.
other than that all my Havaianas are around that price range and i also couldnt live without them
i still dont own some croc or alligator shoes and dont feel the need at this point... i have enough time to acquire some of those too im sure :innocent:

now, shall we all throw a shoe PARTY!!!!

Agree ... $600 range is pretty standard now, what I routinely spend for a statement shoe, and I would go up from there for exotic skins, custom, etc. Saw a pair of croc platform CLs for $4500 ... not about to go there.

Try yourself to research a little about what it costs to have a pair of shoes made. It isn't cheap.

How do you know I haven't?

Because you haven't told how.
If you for example want a pair of Louboutins in another color you already have to pay like 25% more. Then try to immagine how much you should pay for having made a completely new style. If you want the high quality materials which designer shoes are made of, I don't belive you would get a pair of custom made shoes for 1k, but if you love plastic it might be possible.:innocent:

How much of the price for a pair of CL's do you think is for workmanship and for materials, and how much for the BRAND?

There are shoe factories in Italy that produce shoes for high profile designer brands like Prada etc. These brands just slap their sticker on the insole to raise the price, you can get the same quality materials and workmanship for a much lower cost if you go to these factories directly.
