i-D Winter 2018 : Timothée Chalamet by Mario Sorrenti

i love this and all the haters in this thread are just genuinely jealous of his success and freaking good looks, deal with it, folks! :bounce:

his hair is awful there though.

It’s nothing personal against him. We’re just tired of seeing this look everywhere. In case you haven’t noticed, the youth trend is getting long in the tooth. He looks like a greasy teenager, that is not sexy. Most of the members here are adults and this does not appeal to us. Had he been styled differently that would have been a different story.

I'm surprised by the vitriol directed at Timothée in this thread too, especially as I've always considered tfs members to be supportive of young talent, even when sharing personal opinions. Yes, I agree that the cover isn't the best; he almost looks a little sleazy and like they've tried to make him look older than he is but not quite achieving the intended look properly. It would've been much better if he didn't look so...greasy. But contrary to the comments in this thread reckoning that his time in the spotlight is over, it's definitely just starting.

You don't want to watch Call Me By Your Name and might give the next person who even has the audacity to mention the film a smack around the face, that's fine  but I say give his other films, where he is either a co-lead or primary supporting actor, a chance.

Maybe he is being overexposed at the moment, but it's not for no reason; he really does have a knack for acting, he's not ugly by a long shot (when not styled like he is on this cover), he comes across as genuine and intelligent when he's been on talk shows, and let's be real being half French and being able to speak French was always going to make people swoon.

Pfft, a smack!?!. How about strangle! I'm actually a big fan of Luca's work, so I'm resolved to give him the pass on this one. Hopefully he'll redeem himself with Susprira.

To the contrary, I'm actually shocked that there are such a strong fan-base for him in fashion. We are inundated with male models who can pull off his doe-eyed boyish charm better, so it can't be that. And when you talk screen presence, I don't see it. It's one big mystery for me, lol. Is it the French thing? Anyway, maybe we really shouldn't be too hard on him. He's just fashion's boy of the season. Before him was Dane De Haan, and his successor looks set to be Joe Alwyn, so yeah. The hype will pass.

I think he's a bit overexposed now, but at least he *is* talented and only bound to get bigger. I don't even think he's particularly handsome, but he can act and has a magnetic quality to him that really really works on screen. Like, Beautiful Boy is (imo) a crap movie, but he's fantastic in it.

I disagree on this one. I think Timothee is going to be HUGE, like next legit male movie star, and in a way that we haven't seen since Leo. That's my prediction. Quote me on it! haha.

I agree with you, I think he's not only good looking but he's very talented and very charming.
