my hair is really really long and its a huge mess!! ive ALWAYS had short hair, and now tha its really i cant really deal with it and its always in a huge bun or a really neat bun on top of my head. so whats the point of having long hair?! ARHG!!!

my hair is so annoying. not only do I have oily roots and dry ends, I have two different textures. On the top layer, I have wavy, coarser, frizzier hair, and on the bootom, near my neck, I've straight, silky-smooth hair. Ahh, very frustrating!
recently my mom "trimmed" my edges aka cut off about two inches of my hair. so now it's just above my shoulders! i also can't do anything with my hair, i hate how i look with my hair down and straightened and with it down in it's natural state i just look like a maniac.. so i just put it in a bun everyday.

Success Story!
Here's something that worked for me when NOBODY would take my hair blonde enough. Cuts are different, but this might be a good solution.
I walked into the salon to a new dude (who just happened to be a total stud), and opened the conversation by telling him how unhappy I was with my other hairstylists. I explained exactly what I wanted and exactly what I hated that the others weren't doing. He knew I was unhappy and did a much more extreme version than he probably would have otherwise, just because I was so clear in what I wasn't getting.
He's still my favorite hairdresser ever- I got my whole sorority hooked, so I had free color for all of college.

^that sounds like a dream come true...the perfect hairdresser! I've only gone once and this lady did a horrible job to where I dont want to go to any hairdresser at all. I think that when I grow my hair out to the length I want it to be Im gonna search for the best in my area and *cross my fingers* hehe
But anyways its like 100 degrees outside and my bangs are really irritating me, my forhead is all sweaty and bangs all oily ewww.

Colour Correction (Or, the salon ruined my hair!)
I WAS a platinum blonde, who wanted to dye my hair a darker, more natural blonde. Think like a Lauren Conrad or Mischa Barton circa the OC. So I went to a new salon I had heard good things about, where the stylist used L'Oreal Majirel hair dye. It was SUPPOSED to be a dark, golden blonde/light caramel brown colour, and yet I went home with a gross mousy brownish/reddish toned hair. It looks awful, does nothing to flatter my face whatsoever (I've been brunette before and really liked it, but this..) and I have no idea what I should be doing now. Going back to the Salon is out of the question, I feel awkward enough, this woman isn't my normal stylist and to be honest, she seemed quite exasperated with me even though I hated my hair. I was in the salon for about three hours, as she first coloured it, realized it was this awful reddish colour, then toned it, and then had to add highlights because it just look so horrendous. What do I do now? It's not a matter of wanting the platinum back.. I just HATE this colour! (one of my coworkers actually described it as mousy.. what a great word eh?)
So what now, hair experts help!

My hair is SO boring, and I'm thinking about cutting it short. But I'm kind of really afraid that if I don't like it, I'll have to wait quite a while to get back to where I am now. I love my stylist, but the impatient streak in me would implode if I didn't like it... but I NEED a change!

uh I hate my hair, it's too oily at the roots and too dry on the ends, and is so damaged because of excessive straighteners use also I'm growing out my side bangs that I've cut almost year ago (didn't like it), they're growing out so slowly ((

I am stuck again, I have fine long hair that is strawberry blond and it's long right now, down to my elbows. I think I am leaning towards a CBK look, long and blond. I already have blond highlights but I am getting bored. I don't know, I really want volume but I don't want to cut it short. Help!
I'm currently devastated and I have no idea what to do, and whether what has happened is something I should be complaining about, or is my own fault, or whatever. I have fallen into the trap of getting my hair bleached, which damages it, and my hair is getting shorter and shorter, and now it's an asymmetric crop. Anyway, last time I got it bleached, I got home and my roots were horrifically orange, so I complained and went back and the hairdresser did it again and there didn't seem to be a problem. However, the other day I was out doing some promotion for my club, and three hairdressers stopped me and said 'darling, are you aware you're missing a big chunk of hair....I mean.....MAJOR breakage'. I explained that I had uneven hair on purpose, but when I felt the bit they were talking about, they were right, I have a three inch round patch of hair that is basically quarter of an inch long! I assume this happened because of the bleach, but if so, why hasn't the rest of my hair fallen out? What would you do if this had happened to you? I am not confident about my looks so can't really go any shorter, and I hate my hair being natural, I look so dowdy and ordinary.....help!
Well I would research hair breakage online but I don't think anyone is really going to be able to help you. Your stylist should really not have re-bleached your hair and I think ultimately you will have to cut it off or let it be natural for awhile to regain strength. I don't know very much about it (since I don't color my hair often at all) but googling it will probably yield some information
mindbear i just got my hair re highlighted and it's really dry and "breaky" now too. Try that thing where you saturated your hair in olive oil, wrap in in plastic wrap and a towel and leave it on for an hour or so and then wash and condition it. I just did that last night and it isn't a miracle, but it's definitely better than it as before i did it. Or use those hot oil treatments. Regular conditioning treatments I feel like they don't do enough. Maybe try weekly hair treatments too like that kerastase mask? I know your pain, I had platinum hair in the past and the color was adorable but I jsut couldn't stand the damage after a while.
For me, ugh, I just got a haircut yesterday and although I admit it's cute and not an ugly haircut, I wanted to keep the length on the top and front and just get it trimmed and but take off the length from the sides and back (it's kind of a grown out pixie). Ugh, the girl did so much shaping and now I have all these short pieces on the top that I didn't want. Like by trim the top I meant just so it's healthier, not take off 4 inches from a 6 inche piece of hair!
When I grow it out, I'm gonna have to start from square one with those pieces and the top takes the longest to catch up to the sides.

the first time i went to my current hairdresser she was wonderful. attentive and into the details like me so i was happy with the results. the second time it was so 'off' i just didnt feel like we clicked that day, she started to put more of her opinion in which i dont like from ANYONE. i ended up with something very different from the picture i brought and my descriptions. but all in all i like her skills/her abilities and when she listens she is great.
on Monday im going from light brown/medium blonde highlights to all over dark warm blonde with no highlights. im not asking for something incredibly difficult! cross your toes for me! and if it doesnt work out i really will cry. i cannot bare waiting another month or so to get what ive been wanting for sooo long! and halloween is coming up with people taking lots of pictures, i dont want busted pictures!
My hair's texture is virtually hopeless. If I blow dry it or brush it out straight, it just always has this un-smooth texture to it. The strands themselves almost look like wavy/curly hair just trying to be straight. Plus it's just puffy and never sleek. I've tried the best of the best hair products and it's never what I want. I'm curious but hesitant about buying a GHD because I don't even know if that will work.
On the other hand, if I let it go natural, it's completely unpredictable. Sometimes it's just gorgeous and springy, and other times it's a horrible frizzy mess (usually when I have to be somewhere important.) It's so confusing to me how to manage it so it looks nice. Usually when I go to bed with damp hair, I wake up and it looks awesome. But I have to wash it again in the morning so that's no good.
In the end, I always just end up putting it up. I gain about 20 pounds and a huge looking head when I let it down anyway.

I just hate my hair period. I always have.
It's this weird texture and I think it has thinned immensly in the last 3 years (could just be my imagination though). It's straight at the top and then gets a little wavy, but just a little. The waves go away if I dont do anything to it, but it's just...urgh. I just dont like it.
Right now I'm trying to decide whether to dye my hair jet black or dark auborn red...I need a change and I wont cut my hair short. I'll get the ends trimmed, but I need to decide on a color.

okay so i got my hairdid on monday. all dark/medium blonde. it was good for the most part except some bits were orangey so i went back this morning to do an ash toner! yaee! im so glad i listened to MYSELF. everyone was like wait a week. i was like well i refuse to leave my hair down all this week and let my ears freeze cuz im gonna look like a pumpkin! from prior experience orange doesnt really fade, it usually gets more intense/noticeable. even if its fades, orange does not = blonde! finally now its lovely beigey golden blonde. my hair is still soft & manageable so im good.
