I May Be Your Boyfriend, What Do You Want For Xmas

[bump]Come on, girls with boyfriends. Post away! I find this thread intriguing...[/bump]

Last year I Told my boyfriend wht to get me... this year I didnt 'really tell him anything... let him put some thought into it.. ;)

Dear (I don't have a) Boyfriend,

For Christmas I would like for you (or a similar applicant,) to put me first for a day. Before everything and everyone else, just take one day to make me feel like I am the most cherished person in your world.

Love,

Amanda

If I had a boyfriend, I would want something handmade or really thoughtful. Expensive isn't necessarily better. A well-written poem, story, or letter...a photograph, drawing, or some small hand-made something-or-other (depending on the person's particular skills)...a song that's written and performed for me or a mix cd of songs that are compiled for a special reason...combine any one of these with a bar of my favorite kind of chocolate (70% dark chocolate ;) or anything from lindt) or a letter/note and I am putty in your hands. An expensive piece of jewelry is nice, but it really is the thought that counts in this case. I think the real goal behind the gift is not just giving the actual item but rather showing the person that you love them/care about them and that they're important to you. That's just my take though. If you can send that message with a more expensive gift and you want to, then go for it by all means.

That said, I don't actually have a boyfriend, so it doesn't really matter what I would want. I hope that I gave you some ideas, though, in case your girlfriend never actually sees this page. If she doesn't reply with anything on this thread, listen very very carefully to what she says when you're with her and read her posts here on tfs to see if you can find something that she wants/would like. If you're really stuck, ask her friends (but make sure that they won't tell on you ;) ). Good luck!

Honey, Sweetie, Boyfriend-Husband..

I wouldn't mind a tinny studio appartment in central Rome..
or a Umbrian stone house..
a shopping trip to New York would do nicely .. some time next summer or fall ?
a DVD recorder.. for when the baby comes
the complete SATC DVD set
long brown equestrian boots
black prada sneakers
lawrence steele blouse
a miu miu purse
that little coral/gold necklace I showed you ;)
tinny vintage forgetmenots silk flowers
a dessert course
cashmere socks, sweaters..

 Hanne

Boyfriend,

Let me give you a general idea of what I did for MY boyfriend. I made a basket and decoratted it with all of his favorite types and colors of fabrics from various shirts and clothing that I had worn since I had met him that i no longer wore or desired to have. I then made my own paper and got a fountain pen and wrote various notes ranging from "I love you" to various things I would like to do for him such as "breakfast in bed" or "Evening alone" or "bubble bath and snuggle night" or "cook favorite dinner and a movie". I made enough of them that there are enough for him to take one "coupon" out of the basket every three days for the rest of next year. I then sprayed the basket with my cologne, and placed various bubble bath and salts in there with it, and then wrapped it and placed it under the tree. It was something that was simple, sweet, inexpensive, and had every ounce of love poured into it that was needed. He said he wanted something that he would never think to ask for, so I'm hoping it's a pretty good shot at that and also something that will remain on his mind for quite some time.

I also wrote him a letter telling him how much and why and what I loved about him and thanking him for sharing his life with me.

Mr Boyfriend I need some Mukluks.......still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's so sweet Vinniccio! I remember my little brother did something similar for our mum one Mothers Day. It's a really nice idea, unique and meant a lot more than the typical pre-packaged gift. For all of my joking, I do hope that you find something wonderful for your partner, Boyfriend. :flower:

This thread is so cute...many of your ideas are so great....I love the one with the basket of coupons...smart gal & very sweet :flower:

And clearly a very special person, regardless of gender.
