If you had a fashion magazine of your own ...

Geeeeze!!!! these ideas are absolutley amazing. Of course everyone in fashion dreams of someday having their own magazine so here goes mine.

i would have a magazine based soley on incorporating high, high fashion into your everyday lives. Fashion collections would be broken down to the sketches and multiple articles would be written about living fashion and allowing yourself to breathe it.

I would focus on finding fashion in the most unexpected of places and we would celebrate any and all muses to the fullest.

Most importantly, i would want to create new ideas of beauty and push for an even more intellectual and thoughtful fashion community that thinks of fashion as a lifestyle.

with all these excellent ideas at hand, it seems as though there should be a fashion magazine called TFS where brilliant minds from around the globe come together to turn fashion into a lens for the entire universe!!!!!!!

oh man...becoming a fashion designer is my goal, but having my own magazine is my dream!!

my ideal magazine should...

-have both men's and women's editorials, better yet, having both mingle together (aka...androgyny magazine! it's taliored for me!!)
-matte paper. sometimes like i like glossy paper, but matte paper is better!
-big enough to read, small enough to carry
-called "Content Magazine"
-more more editorial. instead of having lots of info, i like short stories or continued stories.
-alot of good art/illustrations!!!

2 issues ....
one with a stylist guest editor presenting his influences, private, personnal stuff, cahier de basiques et tendances (basics book ?), people he has respect for ....
it would be edited with the help of a graphist, the stylist would choose ...

only one introduction text .... to present the magazine under his "power" .... it could be a dialogue, a novel, poetry .... whtver ....

the second would be same concept with a photographer ....

the whole would make a volume .... so the stylist and photographer would be chosen as a team .... or the stylist would chose the photog', he wants to "curate" the second issue ...

at the end of 2009 an exhibition would take place curated by the 2 people and me .... in a place to be announced .... where everyone would be invited .... no guest list, no limited places ....
the theme of the party would be chosen by the 2009-2010 stylist and make-up artist ....

the mgazine would be printed in 2008 copies worldwide ...
for the cost, i don't know ....
28 copies would be limited edition .... with a box of seperated prints and a gift from a house, the stylist would choose ....

the stylist for the first issue would be ........ Panos Y.

My magazine would be called Mirror,Light,Echo,Glass, or something nice like that.

It would be like Vogue Paris, with heavy coverage of fashion ,beauty,music, and jewelry.And interviews with both well known people and lesser known individuals.

July would be the guest editor issue, and the first guest editor would be Carine Roitfeld.

And the very first cover would go to Snejana, of course.And the second cover would go to Ana Claudia Michels.

Your Dream Magazine

I'm new to TFS, but for a while I've thought "What if I could start my own magazine?!" Well, I'll share mine with everyone and I would love to hear everyone else's dream magazine. It can either be a brand new magazine you start or a magazine already started. Here's mine:

A magazine called In French because I love the French language. I would have Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan, Lara Stone, and Courtney Love on the cover wearing Balenciaga Fall 2008 and only one word on the cover, besides the title, and it would be "SEX" because I think there is something sexy about all four girls/women.

I would have four editorials inside:
In French (which would always be the title of the opening editorial) with Kate Moss, about 12 pages.
The Pros & The Cons with Lindsay Lohan and Courtney Love, seperate shots and some together, about 6 pages of pictures and they interview eachother, in Interview style.
Fashion Squared with Marc Jacobs dressing Lara Stone and some pictures with Lara alone, about 18-20 pages with mostly Lara alone.
"Let me teach you..." with Kate Moss playing a modeling coach to Coco Rocha, Daria Werbowy, Raquel Zimmerman, and Jourdan Dunn, about 15 pages.

So, now I want to hear everyone else's dream magazines!

Your Own Magazine

hey guys! just wanna share this idea that i had while creating my first entry for the new round of Vogue cover challenge, what if you have your own magazine?

you are the editor-in-chief and since you assume that role, you have the whole control in the magazine. what would be the name of your magazine? how it'd be like? monthly? bi-annual? what would be the format/content?

if you want you are all very free to share your cover by making a sample one. editing a sample picture from a fashion shoot, etc putting the name of your magazine, things like that. but be sure to properly credit the picture.

can't wait for your creations! looking forward to them!

Title: jxtps (read "juxtapose")

Quarterly: September/Fall, December/Winter, March/Spring, June/Summer

The title refers to the format. Not only will there be lots of editorials, there will be lots of fashion commentary. The writers will analyze the different shows, trends, and designers, and even address deeper issues about fashion. These will include body image, the importance of fashion, the real factors that contribute to price, designer vs. mass-market, etc.
