Can we imagine a whole story but then transpose it in a spring context or does it have to be solely inspired by spring ?

Hair & Make-up:
Inspiration: Spring is often considered as the season of love therefore I decided to use 2 symbols of love from our culture; the first one being the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice which inspired the cover. And as for the second symbol I chose Romeo and Juliette. I actually tried to imagine what their life would’ve been like if Juliette had left with Romeo when he was sent to exile. There are also some references to Baz Lurhmann’s Romeo + Juliet.
COVER shot: They’re both laying on the grass. James is on his stomach shirtless, his arms are crossed so that his right eye is hidden to produce the wink effect staring at the camera. Crystal is laying on his back, eyes closed. The light is usual McLellan use of sunlight.
i-D font is in white + Cover title: Spring Blossom in a bold Arial white font.
Clothes: Givenchy Fall 2011 black bra + Prada SS09 black skirt. (James is shirtless)

DOUBLE PAGE: James and Crystal are sitting on the floor in front of a big aquarium, eating Macdonald, Crystal has her head on his shoulders she’s drinking some coke while he’s eating fries. They are both staring at the camera. Junks on the floor around them as well as a Dries Van Noten backpack, a Balenciaga Holdall bag and a large black Celine boston bag (both are open with clothes and various stuff coming out of them) as well as some plastic bags filled with clothes and other random stuff. The Runways is written in quite big, white and bold, Arial font on the left hand corner and under there’s this quote from the play “My bosom’s lord sits lightly in his throne” in a dark blue i-D basic font. (Credits will be put in the end)
