I'm New And I Hate LV

Just to let you all know I am 25 and I just bought the Dooney It bag in periwinkle. I think they are adorable. I need a cute bright summer bag.

In the winter I bought a gucci, forgot what it's called but it's black and I wanted something bright for summer.

Honestly I really love the marc jacobs bags, but I don't want to spend the 1000$ for one.

Why would anyone want an LV bag? You look stupid. People who really are rich don't show off their money it's dumb and you end up getting taken advantage of when people see you in that way. I would be so ashamed to carry lv.

someone explain the lv thing to me...

Agreed, PradaP.

It's also a bit hypocrital to say that wearing an LV makes you look like you're showing off your money... well.. What the heck does Gucci say? Pretty much the same thing, I think.

It's one thing to have an opinion. It's another to come in here and start a thread practically insulting a majority of the members who happen to like LV.

there is a difference between lv and gucci, at least now there is as far as the money thing. my bag didnt cost 2000$ and its pretty modest. not brightly colored. Lv is like this club of cool people and all you have to do to get in is save enough money but you look dumb.

My question was what are you thinking when you where that bag, like when people look at you what do you wnat them to see or think or what impression do you expect people to get?

Does it make you feel good or happy because you like the look? I just dont get it thats all. And what does think before you post mean? Why dont you think before you spend a bunch of money to look like a wannabe rich person that you probably aren't.

I have a friend that loves lv and I see people talk behind her back and roll their eyes at her. She thinks she looks so cool, but it is so overdone enough already with the lv thing be original!

so-i'm guessing that in high schools accross america there is a battle raging btw the lv carriers and the non lv carriers...this subject keeps rearing its ugly head over and over...

must be similar to the designer vs. non designer jeans conflict...
i'd venture to guess that the lv carrying crowd is also sporting some designer denim...

funny how things stay the same..
when i was in hs it was designer jns and designer bags too...

that was 20 yrs ago...how far we've come...

I think its a little ridiculous for kids in high school to carry $1000 handbags, it's an obvious attempt to show off, and at that age you're bound to be ridiculed by other kids who want what they don't have. Louis Vuitton is a luxury leather company that is not meant to be played out by high schoolers, and will continue to be around after a stupid pre-teen craze....sorry, just my 2 cents, no offense to anyone

I have a LV Speedy & a LV "eye love you" bag...and love them both, but certainly dont use them to show off because I dont see what the point of showing off is...I dress the way i dress to satisfy me.

i do believe people are buying them for status symbol (which i find lame)
and i'm rolling eyes when i see girls holding those bags as if they are something special.

ok really, I buy Vuitton bags because of the quality, craftsmanship, and history.
not everyone has to feel the same way and not everyone has to fall for LV.
I'm not offended at all when others saying how much they hate LV, but to me, sometimes it seems like some people are rather "offended" when seeing LV lovers.

thats my point, i certainly feel that way and sometimes i even voice it out when i get a chance - so glad my friends dont sport IT bags even those that can absolutely afford them, its quite de-classè holding an IT bag in my circle, looks totally victimised and non elegant
