^ I don't think there is a right or wrong opinion on this one. I think it all boils down to one's own beliefs. For me personally, I would have certainly dated a 19 year old when I was 16 years old. However, if I had a daughter, I wouldn't want her to do that! In seriousness, I think some young girls are responsible enough to date someone older and handle a sexual relationship while other girls might not be able to and lack some maturity. I don't know much about Jamie Lynn so I don't know if she can or cannot have a healthy relationship with an older guy...I do know that a 19 year old guy is way more mature than Jamie Lynn's sister though!

That's true, they just love to pick on the Spears family and make a mess out of nothing at all. Anyway, I really hope the rumours aren't true, but if she is living with a 19 year old boyfriend and is the sister is Britney, I think that it definatley could be possible. I never even knew that she lived with a 19 year old She seemed so sweet and innocent on Zoey 101

Jamie does not live with her boyfriend! During the summer holidays in California, when her mother goes back to Louisiana, Jamie stays with her father or her older brother in California. Her boyfriend stays with them, but they sleep in different rooms. Also, yes they went appartment hunting because her TV show has changed locations, but that is not for her and her boyfriend, it's for her, her family, and friends. She has not moved in with him. He lives in Misissippi and she lives with her mother in Louisianna(sp?)...Oh and he is not 19, he is a year older than Jamie...

Her mother, when asked if Jamie is pregnant, laughed in shock and said that rumour was cruel!

im not shocked that she is pregnant but im rather shocked by some of the reactions here. being pregnant at 16 is normal to you?? sorry but wtf are you talking/thinking about?? she herself is still a f*ing brat and has no f*ing idea of how to have a kid herself. they are just another childish horny irresponsable couple. and no it's not cool to have sex at this age.. it's redicilous.. and funny.. acting all "adulty". im honestly sick of this whole "it's ok" propaganda. god damn.. look at her pictures.. that's all we need to see.. how old does she think she is.. she has time for all that.. why rushing??

nothing has been confirmed, so as of now she is NOT pregnant. i think when people said that having a baby at 16 was "normal", i think they meant that it's not uncommon since there are many teen pregnancies in the world.

but if she is pregnant, it's her life and her decision to have a child. i'm sure she can't take care of the baby, but they have enough money to hire some nanny anyways.

Calling it 'not cool', 'ridicilous' and' funny' is what, IMO, end up sounding ridicilous. Sex is natural, and most couples that age do have sex. Maybe you were a virgin until you married or whatever, i don't really care. But first calling someone you don't know irresponsible and a brat by stuff you've read in various papers and then calling sex at 16 ( what do you think is a good time to start sleeping together?) 'ridicilous' is what pisses me off. And imo, that's a better reason than yours.

Well, I don't care if it's Jamie-Lynn Spears, your cousin, or my next-door neighbour, I don't think that ANY 16-year-old (at least not in the Western culture) is mature enough, responsible enough, or stable enough to raise a child. Sure, there's cultures that marry young, have children, young, but they tend to die young as well, so it makes sense. Here, a 16 year old is still in school, barely driving, and not of legal age for anything. Yes, I know a few people who have been self-supporting since they were 15 or 16, but that's a rarity. If she is still dependant on her parents for her own needs, how is she supposed to take care of a child?

If i've given the impression that i find pregnancy at the age of 16 year old's 'alright' and 'normal', i will have to re-think my words, but i really think most of you are over-reacting. I know several girls who've raised a child at 15, 16 or 17 where both the mother and the child has done perfectly well. Hell, just look at gilmore girls (50% joke, don't hold it against me)

and it's not like she's going to raise it all alone in the world. Yeah, it's her child and she'll have responsibility, but if she now is pregnant, i'll find it very strange if the spears-family (and yes, the spears-family does include other members than so-called braindead spears) won't stand up for her, help her all they can etc.
