Is the fashion world inherently shallow?

I'm just now getting around to reading the September W ... the cover shoot was of many different models, including Kate Moss. They gave each a questionnaire, with prompts like "Pilates or yoga," "Daily beauty essential," "Beauty from the inside out." There's a photo of Kate Moss's, and she left only one question blank--Beauty from the inside out. Somehow I was reminded of this thread
