Is Tiffany & Co being taken over by chavs ??

Tiffany's is about as charva as rolling a snout down the park and leaning out the door of your customised Citroen Saxo, whilst drinking a bottle of Bella. The only thing that is more charva is the ocassional Easyjet 'air-hostess' - their faces are the same colour as their uniforms...

Saying this, I am drinking Asti Spumante from a milk bottle at the moment... It'll be the White Lightning next.

The 'return to tiffany's' collection seems to be on every chav-looking girl around here too, but I don't think ALL the collections are like that. My bf bought me a necklace from the Elsa Peretti collection for xmas and it's absolutely gorgeous, plus Tiffany's in Toronto only had 1 of this necklace so it's not like someone else is going to have it.

Unfortunately, when a line like the 'return to tiffany's' collection starts appearing everywhere and cheap duplicates are being made, it does to a collection what happened to Louis Vuitton with the Murakami Speedy IMO ... I don't hold either brand on nearly as high of a platform anymore in terms of luxury and exclusivity.

So are chavs the ones that ruined Burberry? :[

It's still a popular brand in America.

I dislike those "return to Tiffany's" tags with a passion. I didn't even knew they made fakes! But SOOO many girls have it, it's just so played out.

Ahh, so I think I see. Thanks for the info. I also didn't know what a chav was but was afraid to ask. So, teen who is pregnant, smoking and drinking? Throw in some crystal meth and there 'ya go -- in California = trailer park chic. :yuk:

OMG, you mean all the people I went to high school with moved over there?! These 'chavs' would fit in perfectly with the red neck hoosiers that live in the sticks in Missouri. :yuk:

i think there starting on the Elsa Peretti collection look on ebay there are hundreds of fakes, i got a ring and bangle from that collection and its realy classy and i dont think they could pull it off

Chav's didn't ruin Burberry in the UK- they just downgraded the Novacheck Burberry so now the people who can afford don't want it because it's less exclusive and links them to "those kinds of people". Burberry Prorsum is still desirable however by the fashion conscious.

Generally in Asia, USA and Australia etc. the Novacheck is still highly sort after as an upmarket designer symbol. Most of the hicks/bogans/chavs would have no idea what the novacheck means or how to differentiate it from other checks/tartans.

What's also becomingly increasingly chav-esque is Ralph Lauren polo's. They are so readily available for low prices in stores and on the black market that more people are wearing them, and they no longer have that same fresh preppy appeal anymore due to this.

They couldn't pull if off because it doesn't have Tiffany & Co written all over it.

Burberry isnt much of a brand over here anymore, Nordstrom doesn't carry the Golf line anymore. Prorsum is great, Burberry London is rather uneventful.

Ya know, there's nothing quite like seeing tacky people wearing elegant stuff to turn you off. Everytime I see a bimbo wearing Tiffany & Co. jewelry or with an Ipod in their hand, I want to run down the street and scream my head off.

I have no idea what any of this means, but I find it strangely erotic...

In England, there's bad weather and bad clothing.

Im sure they started doing imitations of the elsa hearts years ago. Like Argos doing similar ones too.

Ugh, that Return to Tiffany's chunky bracelet thingy with the heart on it?

I HATE that thing! Everyone and their mom at my college is wearing one...It looked cute when Elle Woods wore it in Legally Blonde...but now it just looks so cheap....especially when this three-hundred pound girl who sits behind me in class is wearing one as well (it's a fake!)

Those necklaces and bracelets are so overdone...

as an American, I had no idea what a "chav" was so I googled it and discovered the link above...but I must say, the term "glamourous redneck" is a very appealing description:lol:

on the topic of Tiffany & Co., I think it's just one of those brands that will look classy and refined only if the person wearing it is well, classy and refined.
