J.W. Anderson - Designer, Creative Director of J.W. Anderson & Loewe

For those interested in the history of Loewe:

So when are they announcing his departure from Loewe??! This week??

MGC is still at Dior so no need for an announcement from Loewe if indeed JWA is leaving for Dior even more when we consider that they announced already that she is presenting the resort show in Rome next year.

They can announce his departure without needing to immediately announce he will take over Dior…
Especially if he is not designing upcoming FW25 Loewe show, then they most definitely will announce his departure soon, and they can announce his arrival at Dior after MGC departure announcement. They don’t need to go hand in hand

Yes but because they at LVMH, they can make changes from season to season, literally. So why the need to have Loewe without any creative lead (if they haven’t chose his replacement) during that time.

But I wonder if LVMH is going to make an announcement before the Assemblée Generale. It could question the idea of stability when the two rising brands have a change of CD at the same time.

Perhaps to give him more time to work on his debut for Dior in June… if he keeps working on Loewe til March, he would not be able to focus on Dior until somwhere in march.
To straight in jump from designing a collection for a house he has been at for a decade to debut Dior couture in less than 3 months might not be the smartest move.

It caught my attention JW Anderson mens / womens resort show is not on the calendar next month in January. I hope to see a look book instead.

Who do we think is replacing him at Loewe?

I've heard only two rumours: Duran Lantink and Proenza Schouler - the latter making even less sense.
Lol
Proenza Schouler are whole industry’s biggest joke. Even LVMH headhunters wont touch them with the longest pole. Those guys aint designers. They copy pasters.

I heard of the Proenza boys going to Loewe too... But I had also heard about someone different going to BV so now, I don't trust anyone anymore even those I thought were reliable sources
Things also change last minute, rumours at the moment can reflect real goings on and then final news can be the result of last minute changes.
The only rumour or rather guesses that are unfounded is Fabio Zambernardi returning to lead a large corporate brand, as any peers or friends of his know he is not interested in what that would consist of in the fashion landscape of 2025, otherwise we may as well have stayed in Prada Spa.

Maybe the've just a meeting like other meeting the execs can have but that doesn't mean its definitive...but they need to choose soon if they want JWA to do a smooth transition to Dior...

Less than two weeks for 2024 to end and i'm sure we are gonna have one more CD "appointment"

Zambernardi should have succeeded Miuccia if Raf didn't join Prada and I don't think he was happy about it.

Prada group/Patrizio Bertelli is famous for throwing in surprises, he loves to do double hires for positions that exist, kind of a pokemon gotta catch em all situation.

Does anyone know/or could take an educated guess as to when JW is expected to show his first Dior collection? (He is definitely going there so not speaking in maybe's here)
I can't imagine he would show HC in June, that would be insane.. and with a full MGC Womens team still there till end of May.

As it is an internal move and if her next position is already known (they should give her Pucci tbh lol) things can happen very fast.

Raf prepared his collection in how many weeks?

I don’t know JWA’s process but if the March is his farewell (which it will likely be), LVMH can set up a studio for him and his team to develop the collection and then produce it.

3 weeks to develop a collection for the ateliers. It’s totally possible tbh.

It’s better to debut in September with the RTW IMO.

Thanks for your insight. I have to admit I stumbled across TFS a year ago and have been lurking on it on/off when I have time, and I only created an account recently to interact on these threads because I enjoy your grounded industry observations and well formed designer/fashion knowledge Lola701.

Talking about Pucci, I wonder how long Camille Miceli will hold onto that gig? They are doing some of the worst random shoe range I've seen in awhile, esp for a brand like Pucci that I feel the footwear brief and desirability could be quite straightforward.

MGC's next position is known internally within LVMH, I just wonder if he can 'move in' when the Womens team is there and Kim Jones is leaving earlier in March. I guess you mean they can set up a studio outside somewhere for JW's team to start on?

Very intrigued what the stores will look like under his CD, or if it will be the same as I heard Bernard Arnault does not allow interior changes? I hope the vitrines could at least be a bit more inspiring

I can’t believe that of all people it’s with JWA that they’re giving the whole Dior fashion line. But I guess it’s much better than the duo we have there right now.

Is MGC really staying with LVHM? I actually want her for Gucci ngl.
