I’m not surprised by the success because he is an intelligent and very strategic man. He understood quite early (like Alexandre Mattiussi) that the positioning of his brand and his personal story telling would be the key of his success.
He worked in retail so he knows how to create an efficient strategy. With two shows a year and easy items, it’s a great success story.
His business rise with wholesales but now, to go to the next level, his own retail spaces will be important and with that, I hope he will improve the quality of production of his clothes. It needs to be at Acne Studios level at least.
What I think is very telling is that AMI, Isabel Marant and Jacquemus had all secured the first markets. France is still their first market and that force them to not go overboard with the prices. And that I respect.
As much as I respect his success story, his interviews are so cringy. Everytime i hear him, I fail to believe what he is saying…
