Hasn't Yvan Mispelaere already placed as the long term head?

Yvan stays as head designer for Chloe and i'm only too happy for this

I cried out "thank the lord" when I read this. Thanks for the heads up.

If Yvan is permanent, why doesn't the Telegraph know it ... and why isn't Chloe PR doing anything to publicize it? Gucci's "new" designer has been everywhere in the fashion mags ...

^ Chloe already confirmed Yvan's position

no idea why the telegraph printed the Mayle story..

Luella's design would not translate well on Chloe. They may be quirky but just not chic enough. It's a bit trying to hard whereas Chloe is the total opposite

I don't know if J. Mayle would be the right fit for Chloe as creative director but I do know she has a huge NY/LA/SF following. Aside from Satine in LA, I believe METIER in SF carries (or plans on carrying) pretty much her entire line. I don't know if they have a website though, but they do ship. Mayle had its trunk show in SF two weekends ago, and the fall stuff that was for pre-order, esp. the sweaters were really nice, smart, functional, cute, etc. (FYI, J. Mayle in person is a fine looking chick, wish I brought my camera)
I like the fact that she maintains under the radar status. If you've ever been to her nolita outpost, you'll know that her lines have been to date very limited (as the store is approx. 150 sq. ft.)... Her cow print skirt is a classic!

I find the FW2006 collection a little dull although there are some luvly pieces

It will be great if Yvan 's appointment as the chief designer is true. How did u guys know abt it?

^ i read about this somewhere (maybe wwd ?)
and then friends who work in the Parisian PR 'circuit' basically confirmed the rumour but sadly its not been made 'official' yet ..grrrr

i want Yvan to take this chair , he totally deserves this

Sorry I don't agree. Luellea's bag sold at one point...but now it's DEAD
no one would touch it with a ten foot pole..and her clothes...no one wears it..have you seen anyone wearing her clothes at all?

I think she has what a lot of designers are missing. Being Thorough. Following through on all the special details and fit.
I think she is the perfect person for this position.
