I don't think it has anything to do with Hollywood. Most people change a lot in 10 years.

I do think that her looks today have a lot to do with her profession and the industry - the polished look, that body-type etc... of course people change but you can tell that actresses and singers start out rather-fresh-faced, 'natural' and over time 'correct' their appearances in favour of a 'polished' - more perfect look...I don't know 100% how to describe it but if you take a look at Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, Julia Roberts, Megan Fox they all seem to tend to a corrected-by-Hollywood-standards-improved look...it is due to the high standards the industry imposes on their looks and the same can be applied to January or her co-star Christina Hendricks...

it's not a 'natural' transformation - it's thanks to a lot of money, time and beauticians, doctors (surgeons etc.), technology even (they get measured how to draw their eyebrows etc..) to conform to a beauty standard

I think she is one of few people who can pull off severe hairdos and makeup. For some reason, it suits her (other examples include the Versace show and the Costume Institute Gala).
