japanese cut

LOVE Japan. These designs and such look amazing. Nothing but love for the Japanese cut designs from Nihon.

I am fascinated by these cuts to create such voluminous 3-D masterpieces. ^_^

Are cuts like these meant to accentuate body parts? I can't imagine many of these being convenient to wear at all though they are still a wonder to look at.

I think they are the "origami" style taken to an extreme. Or perhaps origami style was a watered down version of it. I like that they don't rely on loud colours or prints to make the clothes interesting. The structure and lines are interesting by themselves and everything else is kept to a minimum.

But i think it's really more art than clothes. I would find it very impractical to work in those clothes.

these books sound really interesting, I was looking for books like these in paris, but even at the art deco library they didn't have it :-/ (guess I 'll have to look on the internet )

:P I love how I write that down ^
and find them unexpectedly at a store this afternoon. Bought the 2nd volume, going back tomorrow to get the first one :D
