jean shrimpton is so cool! she was so daring to wear a miniskirt to the Melbourne Cup.

I actually read that she only wore a mini skirt/dress to the Melbourne Cup because the people that supplied her with the fabric for her clothes were stingy and didn't give her enough fabric since her clothes were made for her when she was in Melbourne.

^ I read that too. She said something along the lines of 'So the miniskirt didn't come about because of Mary Quant, it was because the people who made my outfit [can't quite remember the company's name...] was much too stingy with the fabric!' I thought it was pretty funny

I would seriously consider looking her up just to meet her if I was anywhere near where she lives today; I can't say that about almost any other celebrity!!
