Jeff Buckley

I thought that there wasn't a movie coming, becuase his mother didn't wanted it to.

I think it's now getting made with his mother's cooperation...but it's only in the script production phase at the moment. They're not casting until next year, but James Franco keeps getting touted to play him.

The first thing I thought when i read about the posibility of a film, that was about a year ago, I thought James Franco, he would be great.

I hope the film will turn out to be ok, I usualy don't like BioPics.

I think the film makers will get a pretty hard time from Jeff's fans...and deservedly so. He was such a unique person.

I remember the first time I heard Grace, my parents were playing it downstairs in the living room and I was mesmerised. It really reminds me of the beauty of nature. I imagine sitting by the sea and watching the waves rolling in or the feeling when you're amongst the waves.
I remember making my friend listen to it and we were both sat there totally amazed by his music. I can honestly say that I hadn't heard anything like it before. I think Mojo Pin is my favourite.
He had a really linear style in his music writing, there's not always a distinctive chorus, the music seems to grow as though organic. I think a lot of musicians today are influenced by this whether its punk, electro or whatever.
He was such a great musician and completely opened my eyes to different ways of writing music.

Also, sorry for the double post but just want to say that I think the band he had were also really amazing. If you watch the live versions of his songs, they're so good. Especially in songs like mojo pin where you don't know what Jeff's gonna do next!

i am listening to a live version of mojo pin right now, it is truly the most amazing song he wrote.

^ what movie?! My best friend got me the Legacy Edition of Grace for my bday, it's got a DVD as well! I'm a happy camper.:D

as i've said before, that dvd footage of him (where they spend a day with him) always makes me cry  somehow i always burst into tears. it's amazing the effect he has on people

his speaking voice is like an angel..i know that sounds cheesy but it's what i think. in the book 'dream brother' it says his friends always had a feeling something bad would happen to him..

Jeff Buckley's death marked with new compilation

Release commemorates singer's tenth anniversary

19.Mar.07 4:28pm
The tenth anniversary of Jeff Buckley is to be marked with a new compilation.

The singer drowned aged 30 on May 29, 1997 in Memphis Tennessee while working on his second album.

Following his debut album 'Grace' and the posthumous release of his second record's demos, 'Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk', a collection of his studio work is being released for the first time.

'So Real: Songs From Jeff Buckley' is out in May 28 and features the following tracklisting:

'Last Goodbye'
'Lover You Should Have Come Over'
'Forget Her'
'Eternal Life'
'Dream Brother' (alternative take)
'The Sky Is A Landfill'
'Everybody Here Wants You'
'So Real' (acoustic live performance)
'Mojo Pin' (live)
'Vancouver'
'Je N'en Connais Pas La Fin'
'Grace'
'Hallelujah'
'I Know It's Over'

I'm sorry, but aren't there enough compilations already? It is getting a bit silly, in my opinion.

well it's been 10 years and something should be done. I don't know much about how many compilations there are already, but this one seems credible.

i guess it'll be 2009/10 version of oscar winning biopics( ray, walk the line..)
hope so!
thanks so much guys for posting those videois, last goodbye is one ofm y favorite songs of all time!

Wow. I can't believe it's nearly 10 years since he died.
Such a tragedy - I often imagine what he would have gone to do. Imagine, Grace was his debut aswell, he would have made some amazing albums.

Oh, and I'd reccomend reading Dream Brother a biography about him and his father - it's a really interesting read.
