Jellies / Jelly shoes

My friend has jelly peektoe ballet shoes, in the most lovely translucent teal. I have no clue where she got them but they are incredibly cute.

I remember my feet used to get all sweaty and blistery whenever I wore those jelly things. Not comfortable.

disgusting, but comfortable still.
anyway, the new ones are a bit more open, so it doesn't sweat that much

I bought a pair of the original jelly babies about 4 months ago...I haven't seen anyone wear them in Melbourne (Australia). That's probably because the factory that started making them has stopped doing so...I got one of the last pairs from the stock room out the back of the shoe store, they don't even have them in the shop front anymore.

Mine are the silver sparkly ones...so they're fairly subtle under jeans or with a denim mini as a casual comfortable shoe (as opposed to rubber thongs etc). I think they can look cheap but I think they can also look cute and interesting...

I attached a pic of mine...but it doesn't do them any justice. They are not yellow (like in the pic)...more see thru. :flower: Sorry for the long post...a lot of people seem opposed to them, so I felt like I had to justify wearing them! :innocent:

 aww dey nuff cute:heart:

Oh my! For some reason, yesterday I got thinking about those plastic sandals I wore as a kid, called Jelly Babies....I don't know what made me think of them.
I used to live in these things all summer....you could wear them to school, and at the beach and even go in the water in them! I think I may have even wore them to a wedding as a toddler! I hadn't seen them in forever, and I just assumed they didn't make them anymore, but I did an Yahoo image seach, and lo and hehold, you can still get them! Does anyone else remember these from their childhood?

i remember seeing jellies on the urban outifitter's catalog from last year. i've never worn jellies, my sister has and she gets all nostalgic about them. i saw a woman wear clear jellies a couple days ago, they looked cute on her.

In NYC I saw this woman wearing peektoe cage jelly flats that were clear with glitter, they were soo cute.

does anyone know of a site to get the thong (t-strap) jelly sandal? No luck on Ebay, La Redoute doesn't have black... and googling only comes up saturated shoe sites. The ones I like are the ones the Olsen's wear. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

i never wore those thank god. my parents had more sense than that.

but i just have two words for those shoes FOOT SWEAT

where can one get the herchcovitch ones? theyre so adorable especially the teal flats with little hole.

jelly shoes/sandals

I absolutely love my jelly sandals and especially the clear see-through ones. However, for anyone that has ever worn jellies knows about the problem of a more than occasional smell those rubbers can give off. :yuk:

Does anyone have any advice on getting rid of the smell? Is there anything I can do about that? :(

I wore them back in the 80ies! As a toddler  Will always remind me of holidays in Italy.

I had pink ones and white open-toe ones... I can recall those.

I used to wear them ALL the time when I was a child! I had a pair of clear ones and pink ones ^^

ohhhh they remind me of when i was 5 & 6 years old! hehe

they were hugely popular for young children in australia when i was growing up!!

Oh, I remember that my mom wouldn't buy them for me(wise woman!), but my bestfriend at the time(I'm guessing we were about 5-6) had pink sparkling ones, and I was soo jealous of her:shock:

i don't know if these have been posted already or not, but alexandre herchcovitch showed gorgeous high-heel rubber/jelly shoes (made in conjunction with melissa) for spring 2006...

in clear and red.
Does anyone know where I can get jelly sandals other than urban outfitters? I live in Canada (Toronto) and sometimes, the UO store doesn't have everything listed on their webite.

So, what do you guys think about jelly sandals/flats? Yay or Nay?
