It's always the same with Jen. People criticize her for always wearing black and "playing it safe." And then she does something bold and unexpected and people have a problem with that too.

She looks fab in the red suit. Cut is good, color is good, jewelry, shoes, etc. I'm loving it. Such a nice change. (What's wrong with 90s Gucci anyway?)

in my case, it's not so generalized as you imply. i like some of her black looks and some of her colour looks, just not this one! i loathed 90s gucci in the 90s, ha ha so i certainly don't like it now, when it seems outdated to me. i just don't find the suit flattering… no shirt looks weird and the pant cut is not my fave.

on another note, the hollywood reporter spread is super cute and playful; she looks great in that sand tone too.
