Thanks for making me laugh fouroclock!!!

its like whatever---if she had any stroong commitment to christ, she cold have just found a new church. her real issue is God has standards ogf behavior---which means---oh no!! he judges you!!! i really hope she just stops talking about it to reporters.

I think that Jessica has been going to the wrong church... not all Christians are a like. And if she were really dedicated to the religion, or if she had the least bit of common sense, she would have looked at other churches. :flower: Religion can accomadate to a modern lifestyle, and she obcviously was not wiliing to try hard enough.

TheGlassAngel, I agree about Scarlett- she is one of the least talented actress of her generation, and for some reason one of the most lauded. All she does is pout and stick out her boobs!

^ Is that what you watch out for is Scarlett's pouty lips and her boobs? :ninja:

personally i don't even think she is that cute--- she really is just the only actress brave enough to have a womanly body.guys are probably tihink ing---well... atleast she HAS a butt and boobs to poke out

So one "youth pastor" says something to her and she "quits the church"

^ I think there is more to it then that....

i sorta feel like the issue isn't thast that church wasn't modern enough. people are alwqays coming down o christians who try to follow the bible. its ridiculous. is their any clause that jesus threw out-in case my teachings are no longer in fashion---please adjust? i understand not everyone feels this mindset is beneficial/right. that is fine. but lets not knock on christians who really live by the bible. i thin its more like jessica was just upset and sh e has discussed this topic for soo long...

A Christian is a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. The last time I checked, he had nothing to say about scantily clad women. He mostly went on about forgiving people, helping the poor, and loving others.

Most Christians - including those who claim to "follow" The Bible - only follow the parts they find most convenient to their own prejudices.

Anyway, I could care less about Jessica Alba. She has to make her own life decisions, I just wish we didn't have to hear about 'em. :P

Geez, I hope Jessica doesn't wear poly/cotton blends.... :D

Haha, what a wimp. I had a priest YELL at me, in the confessional and tell me I couldn't be forgiven, am clinging to the shreds of belief in God, and I still show up to mass when I can (though not at that church! and I've since been reassured by other priests that Father Yelly - and his buddies saying equally bizarre and hurtful things at the same parish - was a nutbar, but still, it sticks with you, and causes a lot of problems). If she really wanted to keep church in her life, she would.

And boohoo, she's too sexy for church? Try being told you're too sexy to work in a library, Jessica. My boss said I was unprofessional for wearing a simple scoopneck. But you know what, I covered up a little bit more, because I loved the job, and I cover up a little bit more in church too, so I'm not distracting everyone around me. It's the adult thing to do and respectful for the situation. Would you go to a church in Rome in your tank top and little boyshorts? Would you go to a synagogue munching on a ham sandwich? Actually, you probably would, and then would complain about being too "sexy" and "curvy" for the Jews, and how horrible it is for you

This article is pissing me off, probably because I'm looking at pictures of Jessica, and looking down at my own breasts, and while she may be all voluptuous for Hollywood, she doesn't even come close to most of us curvy women in the real world :D

i think its interstung all these critics of christiuanity---and how many even have that thorough of an understanding of the bible..
jessica also said inanother interview that she was targeted uinb an all-whitre congregation and felt left out. a yoth pastor has the right and responsiblilty to tell a girl under his care to dress modestly--- but if she lives uiun a racist environment, that won't change just cuz some are christian. she really could have been targeted for being hispanic

I just find it odd that she feels secluded by both the Latin community and her church... not everyone can be wrong. Maybe she's got some personality issues she needs to work out- people seem to not want her around! :innocent:

^ True.
Maybe these are the reasons she dresses so crappy though.
I don't find her that attractive, yeah she's a pretty girl, but she's not as drop dead as she wants to believe....she should have her tooth fixed, that may help her out.

Never been a fan of her's.....just because IMO, she's one of the 'no talent but hot, fashionable and busty' clan.
Her 'hotness' is debatable. Yeah she has a great body but her face is average and boring. Seriously I have two pictures of her on my hard-drive and they both are of her from the back bending over in a bikini (workout motivation, people :innocent:).
But really, if her 'faith' was so genuine that she 'drop out' after a harsh remark, then clearly she had nothing to do there in the first place.

Seriously people....just reading this thread makes me ill. Who is to judge someone and say they dress badly or look ugly? That in it self is a prejudice thinking....and if most of the people here see themselves as achristian....well, I feel sad that most of you think like this.

I really haven't gotten that from any of the post... she needs to look for another church because good Christians, which is the majority of Christians, don't judge. :flower: Just because a few people are fanatical and ridiculous, that doesn't mean everyone is.

I adore her, but this is just completely ridiculous and conceited...

Oh no Christians mustn't judge. If that's true, what's the purpose of having morals? Just let everyone be corrupt and don't dare denounce others. You need to get a backbone and stand up for what's right and decent.

thanks retro--its ridiculous... jesus never said all people are good. i can't stand when people who nominally follow christianity and read the bible decide they are experts---and start sAYing total falsities
