Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Divorce

I find it interesting that everyone is dissing Jessica and everyone seems to be on Nick's "side".
I read that Jessica made most of the money out of the couple so I hope Nick doesnt try and take a huge lot of it.

Yea, I keep seeing this every where... but my thoughts are that they both only became famous after doing the Newlyweds show together.

She never would have became as famous as she has without that show, and hence, without Nick.

I realize she has many solo projects (such as her movie career, clothing line, dessert line, ect), but again, she never would have gotten those opportunities without their tv show.

I feel like he's actually entitled to some of her money

That's a good point... let's say they hypothetically (sp?) split every dollar they made together since the show started, she'd totally have less money than him. I feel like the only big $ he dropped was on making her happy... expensive b-day gifts, weekend get aways for her, rim's for her car...

I agree, NOE. Her voice/songs/persona were not good enough to become famous on, so they got Newlyweds, which without Nick wouldn't have been possible.
Of course, they already make money off of that and I think Vintage may be thinking of projects Jessica did without Nick. Then again, her money/his money...it's all the smae when it comes to a marriage. When you don't sign a prenup.

I think it's sad. I think they were genuinely in love at the beginning. It's ironic, really, you get famous out of a show called Newlyweds which in the end destroys your marriage.

She's increasingly diva like though, with all her hangers on, etc. Even her mum and dad are annoying.

A few days ago on jjb they were saying something about rumors of Nick beating Jessica... which btw I hardly believe... something about Joe trying to create a story to make Nick look real bad so that Jessica comes off as the victim. Did anyone see or hear about that?

Anyhow, hopefully it's all false (i mean Joe trying to sell the story... cause i wouldn't believe Nick hit her even if she came out of their house with a black eye).

I highly doubt that story is true and I don't think anyone would believe it. I think even the vicious American media will be on his side. But Joe Simpson...if there ever was a guy who turned totally away from his roots and sold his soul to the Devil, it would be him.

^Just curious what you mean by "too good to be true"? They didn't seem like the 'perfect couple' on that show. In fact, that was the premise, that they are not the perfect couple nor are they perfect people.

^ I certainly hope Joe didn't do that, but I really do think he is insane and would love to know the real story behind him. I read that when Jess was 1st starting out, some producer rejected her, and Joe screamed in the office, "You'll be sorry one day. My daughter is going to be a mega star! You'll regret this!" It's like, ok you made your daughter a star, but who does she have to come home to at night now?

That and that he married the wrong girl. Surely he knew how different they were. Jessica seems to be a pain in the butt to live with judging by what you could see on newlyweds.

But of course divorce doesn't happen cause of one person.

More like the creepy Dad would be beating them for losing half of his cash cow. One thing that disgusts me more than Jessica.... and even Ashley for that matter is their DAD

I actually liked them as a couple. With the way Hollywood works, I am assuming it is not that easy to let everyone in on what is happening until you can publicly release it and stuff... but I hope they don't both become incredibly trashy and wh*re around like everyone else in Hollywood seems to be doing these days (more than usual).

Why did they do a photoshoot and interview with OK three months ago and say "we are perfectly happy - people like to say that we are not because it makes them feel better about themselves" unquote!

I mean - they don't have to declare their private issues to the world. you can't go from "everythings perfect - we're so in love" to actually seperating in such a short amount of time. its irritating that they should feed us with lies in a mag I've spent money on! wonder why nobody will believe anything you say next time jessica?
