He clearly enjoys working, and so maybe he choose to do the roles he did so his kids see him act. Do you think he'd let them watch Blow or Donnie Brasco at this age? Hell no, he just wanted to do something to show his kids what he does. How do you know what Johnny's daily life is like? For all you know he could fly to see his family as often as he can.
Umm, did I say he was a bad father? I don't think so. And I don't think he's a sell out for making films his kids can watch.
All I'm saying is that i detect a slight contradiction in his statements to the press about how he doesn't care about the movie business and that he wants to spend all his time at home, and then he books movies back to back for several years around the globe. I have no doubt he flies home as often as he can, but nevertheless he is obviously away a lot, just look at his schedule for the last year and the next 3 years.
And he doesn't need the money. For the first Pirates he received a hefty percentage of the gross on top of his usual fee. And it grossed several hundreds of millions.
He keeps forcing her to drain out the fake footlight emotion until she's left to express the bare truthful words. The effect, of course, is that you'd rather see Othello than The Libertine, even with Depp in blackface. And Wilmot the proud ingrate would probably agree.
Brilliant film!
Anywhoot, he's a man that seeks out vice in all it's forms and supposedly doesn't give a rat's *** what people think, but then he falls in love with an actress and he starts to die of syphillis and gets a wee bit more vulnerable.
