SIMON TOPS JUDE AND HUGH: Note to Hollywood producers — Simon Doonan seems to make hearts beat faster than Jude Law and Hugh Jackman, combined that is. Bidding for Christie’s online “Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth” is coming to an end today and, late on Tuesday, the bid for lunch with the Barneys New York creative director, his exclusive preview of the store’s holiday windows and a $5,000 Barneys gift card was at $60,000 — higher than any other lot. By comparison, the highest bid for a day for two with Jackman on the set of “Real Steel” was at $8,000, while a date with Law on the set of one of his future movies had a bid of just $1,100 (presumably Sienna Miller might be hanging around). “I always assumed Jude Law and Hugh Jackman had infinitely more wattage than me, but clearly I have to reevaluate,” Doonan said. “It hasn’t changed me at all, but I am going to have my office lined in a leopard carpet and wear a smoking jacket and ascot to work.” Only Doonan will know whether he merits the high price. “I am going to make it worth it and pull out all the stops,” Doonan promised. “I will do some serious shimmying when the lunch comes around.”

Although they've never been married, Jude Law and Sienna Miller are Hollywood's new Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Law and Miller were the big buzz at the Met Costume Institute gala when they hit the red carpet arm in arm, a public statement that the rumors that the onetime couple were back together were true.

In early December, reports surfaced that the pair, who broke up in 2005, were an item again. They were photographed swimming in late December in the Caribbean, adding fuel to the gossip fire.

Law and Miller have had a rocky romantic road. After their 2005 split (which happened because Law had an affair with the nanny of his three children with ex-wife Sadie Frost), Miller publicly dated married man Balthazar Getty and Law had a fourth child last year with model Samantha Burke.

Talk about playing the field! Law and Miller reportedly reconciled when they were both in New York doing Broadway plays a few months ago and the romance re-ignited. After the Met Ball, they hit an after-party at the 18th Floor of the Standard Hotel and swilled champagne with celebrity pals like Oprah Winfrey, P. Diddy and Anne Hathaway. And just yesterday, newly in love, the couple had a long lunch at Pastis in the Meatpacking District. Perhaps two's the charm for this two-some?
