Julian Roberts Productions (Nothing Nothing etc)

WOW! This is some great information. Thank you to everyone who posted their ideas and thoughts in the subject.

yes, i agree..i hadn't heard of the designer before, but the name of the line really compelled me to read about it, and i think those of you who said that it looks better on paper and the finished product doesn't really live up to the concepts are right..i really want there to be something more to nothing nothing, but i'm not getting what i want from it. the actual images of the clothes are really beautiful..the photography and some of the really high-contrast stuff with the people looking weird..i really like that stuff. i wonder who the lucky buyer is and what he or she is going with the line now.

I really like the clothes alot , thanks very much cerfas

first, thanks again to cerfas for starting the thread and taking the time post up so many pics :flower:

and thanks to travolta for writing the long replies on your thoughts on the subject, i found what you say to be very fascinating. this whole thing seems like a science project, that people kinda tilt their heads and day "huh?" when they hear someone trying to explain it. but who knows, someone else may come up with something really good using the ideas. it reminds me of yohji's APOC thing... so radical...

cerfas, do you think you'll try out some of these patterns?

Perhaps next fall when I have a sewing machine! I'm not very experienced with patterns but I'd definitely be interested in trying. How about you, travolta?

ah, i'm not very gifted with hand skills. i'll leave that to those who are excited about that process...i just want to know the results..:P but to those who are..i would suggest trying..

I agree with you mr. urban cowboy, i want to see the results of someone who is a skilled seamsperson. I think that the concept behind the work is a little stronger than some of the execution. The actuall work seems a little inconsistant to me.

well, it seems like one can get similar results using different methods and less fabric ??! i wouldnt call myself an excellent seamstress, but im gonna try some of these concepts out when i can... ill post pics if i do :flower:

cerfas, thanks so much for introducing us (for those of us who are discovering this work for the first time). i found this group to be very inspirational; i am amazed that people are doing work like this!

sometimes in music something comes along that gives you hope that music hasn't totally been corporatized (if that's a word) and this worl makes me feel that way.

really imaginative, awesome concept, thank you so much cerfas.

Thanks for putting up the pattern info, I always like looking at construction details and diagrams. I have bought silly McCalls patterns and the like just to stare at the details. I would surround myself in them if they weren't made from such flimsy paper.
