I know she's been nominated a number of times, but I don't think she's ever won, and yet people like Julia Roberts and others have. This woman captivates when she's on screen. She's a great actress.

Definitely. Though I've always had a soft spot for Julia Roberts (she is one of the better American Sweethearts). I can not believe Annette Bening is the one that is getting all the buzz. Moore was vastly superior and I know I'm not the only one who believes this.

Well, Julia R held and carried the film for which she won her Oscar, no doubt, but Julianne is a true thespian, whereas Julia R is more of a personality star, if you know what I mean. If Annette Benning was ever due an Oscar, I think it should've have been for her turn in "American Beauty"; she was awesome in that.

With Julianne, she's just good in EVERYTHING she does, even crappy films and her role on "30 - Rock". I haven't ever seen her do "bad" work. She's so dedicated to her craft. I really want her to win the recognition she deserves. SOON!!

I was just watching Children of Men so that picture warms my heart a bit, I would love to see them on screen together again! Especially in one where (highlight for spoiler) she doesn't die in the beginning

thank you. i'm still trying to gather and process this. even tho i think Julianne had better material to work with in the past than in TKAAR (which i thought was great, don't get me wrong, it's just that i find it more like a comedy with pinches of drama than serious material) to earn an Oscar, i seriously can't believe Annette's taking all of the glory (and not only that, she's considered as favourite with Nat for the actual award in a category with brilliant Lawrence or from what i'm hearing best-ever-Kidman) with her few sentences that were mostly shouting and being silently angry (plus her nomination as the lead actress is ??? how was she the leader?). dunno. sorry for the rant but it pisses me off so much, esp. since i adore Julianne so much.
