Junya Watanabe F/W 10.11 Paris

not for me...
maybe if i lived in the country or went hunting in the woods...

but...no...this doesn't sing...
it's doesn't really speak to me at all...
it's nice- in the usual junya kind of way...
but...it's not magical...

maybe when i get to the store though, i will find something that creates a spark...
that has happened before with both junya and comme...
it's different when you see the clothes standing on their own on the rack...

i do like some of the blazers/suit jkts...
but they are SO buttoned up...i think i would feel too restricted if i were to wear anything like that...
well- basically- i wouldn't wear something like that...
but i do think it looks nice..

i dunno we've seen junya play with military and, imo,do it much better than this. i'm the kind of person who's drawn to it but perhaps not quite so literal. it's very nice though but certain elements he has been better at.

^ I agree with you mostly... he has definitely done this before and in a much more experimental/intriguing way (FW06 of course) but I do like this collection as well, even though it's sort of like FW06 with the volume turned way down. Junya's outerwear is sooo amazing for me and his construction is like no other so I kind of love this, though it's not as poetic or magical as one may hope for from Junya

After looking closer, I definitely love it
except for the Ugg-esque boots, which make me want to vomit, and the Jersey Shore tans :ninja:

The jackets are amazing and functional as always and the pieces look interesting and versatile and not to mention the gorgeous shoes :crush:

I see a few great pieces, but overall, I'm underwhelmed....Usually I adore his stuff

Nobody touches Junya Watanabe when it comes to military clothing. It's so gorgeous :crush: :crush: I love it, though of course it didn't exceed to the level of FW06 masterpiece. Exquisite shapes, lines and the twists, and the drapes, the pleats are so beautifully done. I'm sold

After seeing the detailed shots, I retract my previous comments slightly. I still can't get behind the camo... but the other pieces are cut to perfection, and there are some skirts I would kill for. Thanks Inaya

trying to ignore the styling to focus on the clothes--but it makes everything look SO good  really wonderful show. thanks for posting all the pictures !

the collection makes me feel like it's someone i really know, especially in this picture .. englishwoman. forties. during the war. her name(s?) is at the tip of my tongue..

If there's one pattern I really dislike, it's camouflage. Military references are great, but camouflage is one look that should stay away from fashion. That being said, his classic sculptural pieces and coats are very beautiful. The boots, long pleated skirts, & leggings are great too. I'm not a fan of the fuzzy fur trend for fall, just plain tacky.
