Jules, I love that close up at Peter Som, she looks gorgeous! I forget just how stunning she is even without her bangs.

Reid walks Tibi, Steffe, Rodarte, and Som

(NEW YORK) Tuesday: I started the day with a 6:00 a.m. call time for the Tibi show. Once again, the hair and makeup was really pretty for this show—the makeup was something I would probably wear myself. After getting all of the models ready, it was time for first looks. This show was lots of fun because the music was great and they wanted us to just go out and have fun on the runway and swing our arms, rather than the normal model walk with still arms and no hips. After the show, they let us all keep the shoes, which were great Stuart Weitzmans. We also got to keep the beanie, which is a big help since it is so cold here right now. Both my mother agent, Kelly Streit, as well as my booker from IMG, Lisa DiRuocco, joined my mom to watch the show and said that it was great!

After the Tibi show, I hung out for a while and grabbed lunch before going to the Daryl Roth Theatre for the Rodarte show. Their clothes are amazing and so unique. My friend Heather was in the show, so I finally got to see her for a little while this week. Although the show was scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., it started closer to 6:30 or 6:45, which made my day a little more hectic, as I had another show across town starting at 7:00.

After quickly finishing the show and getting dressed, I met up with the two other girls that were doing the Cynthia Steffe show with me. We found the car that was sent for us, and after getting stuck in gridlock traffic and listening to the rep from Cynthia Steffe arguing with the driver for having five passengers in the car, we made it to Exit Art for the show.
Since we were so late, hair, makeup, and nails were all done at once—in about five minutes, as all the guests were already seated and waiting and Ali and I were first and second in the lineup. We quickly ran upstairs to get changed and the show started. I had three outfits and got to close the show. My favorite was my first outfit, which was a cropped leather jacket and a cute white and black top with black and white shorts.

After the show, I jumped in a cab, ready to go grab dinner with my mom, but halfway to Union Square my agency called and I was re-directed to Vivienne Tam for another fitting. When I got to the office there was quite a wait, and after about two-and-a-half hours I was finally fitted, and on my way home to bed so I could start all over again tomorrow.

Wednesday: Today started with a little later call time for the Peter Som show, so I arrived to the promenade tent at Bryant Park at about 7:30 a.m. I had done looks for Peter Som, so I had an idea of what to expect from his show. The hair was very simple, with a slicked-back but messy bun, and the makeup was meant to make our skin look like that of a newborn baby.

After the Peter Som show, I went by my agency to get the rest of my schedule for the day and comp cards and then was off to 3 castings before going back to the tents for the Vivienne Tam show. The hair was put in a high pony, wrapped in 2 different types of fabric, and then twisted around into sort of a bun type of thing on our heads. The makeup was really pretty with sort of smoky eyes. My outfits were both pretty cool—the first was a grey dress and the second was a tan and blue patterned dress with a really pretty black silk and fur coat. The show went really well and two girls from home were actually in the show, too (Anna W. and Marla B.).

Its about 7:30 now, and since I don't have any more castings or shows, I am having dinner in Times Square and taking full advantage of being done early today.

at L'Oréal Fashion WeekIn the past few years New York's fashion week has become an increasingly busy time for Canadian models.

One of the most impressive sources of photographic evidence of this phenomenon appears on Mode Models website (www.modemodels.com).

Especially impressive has been Reid, who has been incredibly busy this past week, under the management of IMG.

Like Sofi, who we mentioned the other day, Reid was part of the outstanding Pink Tartan cast at October's L'Oréal Fashion Week.

Reid's a New York newbie no more!

Friday, February 09, 2007

(NEW YORK) Thursday, February 8. Today was more of a relaxed day. Fashion Week is winding down, so things are getting a little more relaxed. I actually got to sleep in until 8:00 a.m., so that was nice; I had a 10:00 a.m. fitting for Cynthia Rowley and then a 12:00 p.m. fitting for Dennis Basso. After both of the fittings, I went shopping with my mom for a little while before making my way to Gotham Hall for the Rowley show. I ended up being the finale model, which meant that I had only one look, because a 30-foot braid was sewn into my hair, which all of the other models would hold onto when coming out for the finale! In general, though, the hair was really simple and slicked back.
Friday, Feb. 9. Today was the least busy day so far. I started my day with packing up my stuff to take back to my apartment, as my mom was checking out of the hotel to go home and I don't fly home until tomorrow. After that, I went to a casting at Baron & Baron and then headed to Bryant Park, stopping by Starbucks on the way. The show I have today is Dennis Basso. The makeup is the most dramatic I have had all week, with a mixture of gold, bronze, and green glitter shadow and fake lashes. The hair is very pretty, curled a little bit and then brushed and left down for a sexy, feminine look. Both the hair and makeup suit the clothes very well. I wore two outfits: the first was a cute short brown ruffled skirt with a brown button-up fur and leather coat; the second outfit was a cute short black dress with a ruffled skirt bottom once again. The shoes were very high red pumps, and were definitely sitting-only shoes.
The show went well and Dennis seemed to be very pleased with the outcome. After the show, two cute little girls wanted to meet a model, so I took pictures with them. I am now on my way to my agency to say, ‘Bye until next time,' as I’m leaving to go home for a couple of days before heading to Milan to start the show season all over again.
All in all it, has been a great experience. I met tons of people from lots of different places and got to experience something that most people will never get to. I am so glad that I am modeling, and can only hope that next show season is even better!

... and that's one of the second or third pictures I've seen with her and Georgia. I figure they're getting along pretty well.

Probably cause they are both in their first major runway season... I  them both.

I really liked her in Rag & Bone.
