London's Olympic models: Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell to represent world of British fashion at Games Closing Ceremony
It hasn't even started yet, but details of London's Olympic Closing Ceremony have already been revealed.
According to reports Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will appear as special guests at the Stratford stadium as the 2012 games draw to a close on August 12.
As the capital bids farewell to some of the world's most accomplished athletes the three fashion figures will strut their stuff, showcasing outfits by coveted designers including Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen.
A worldwide broadcast of the star-studded event involving more than 4,100 performers will start at 9.00pm.
The 10,500 athletes who have competed in the Games will be in attendance alongside figures from Britain's fashion, art and music industries.
'Organisers wanted the best of British – and that’s exactly what they’ve got.
'The models were all keen to take part because it will be such a memorable event.
'British style is known around the world for innovation and creativity, so it’s right that it will be celebrated as part of the show – it will look amazing,' a source told the Mirror
While Kate, 38, and Naomi, 42, were part of the original generation of *supermodels during the late Eighties, Victoria's Secret model Rosie, 25, has regularly been voted as one of the world's most attractive women over recent times.
During the evening ceremony London will also hand over the torch to Rio de Janeiro for 2016 Games, after which the Olympic Flame will be extinguished.
Kim Gavin, who orchestrated Take That’s successful comeback shows, has been appointed as creative director and choreographer for the proceedings, while Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John have been tipped to perform.
