Kate Launches London

KATE MOSS made a personal appearance in Selfridges today to promote the new collection of bags that she has designed for Longchamp.

The first time the British supermodel has been seen in public since the announcement last week that her close friend Alexander McQueen had died, today's low key event happened instead of last Thursday night's planned launch party - cancelled in the wake of the shocking news.

The Longchamp collection, which Kate has said was inspired by her own use of handbags so she wanted to create "one for every occasion", comprises three themes: Rock'n'Casual, Rock'n'Travel and Rock'n'Glam.

Tonight Naomi Campbell will take the limelight with her Fashion For Relief event bringing some star-studded catwalk action to Somerset House.

It seems that London Fashion Week has begun.
