As for Kirsten in rehab, just because it's not a surprise doesn't make the news any more pleasent. It also doesn't diminish her body of work or mean she's just a money grubbing fame wh*re either.

this is not the Heath thread i know but...he did have a problem with substance abuse....but the cause of his death was mixing the wrong meds..

I'm not surprised to hear this. There were a lot of rumors about how she was a sloppy drunk and youknowwhat user. She once filmed a movie in my friend's house and she was...well, fairly rude so I can't say I really like her as a person, but I think she is a good actress anyway and hope she can pull it together. And she has seemed rather unhappy at times as Mary-Anne says so who knows what has been going on...

Kirsten Dunst has entered rehab, a source close to the actress confirms to PEOPLE.

The Spider-Man star is being treated at the exclusive Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah, the same facility where Lindsay Lohan spent nearly two months and where Eva Mendes recently checked in, according to the source.

"She's not doing well," the source says. "People were pushing her to go in there but there was no intervention… She has been partying hard for a while and I'm sure the Heath Ledger thing put people over the edge."

Adds the source, "She’s been crying a lot lately, a lot built up. …Everybody hits that bottom where you feel [so] scared that that one heavy night of partying can really wake you up. It's good she's getting herself help."

Dunst, 25, who is a regular on the party scene in Los Angeles, was recently seen partying at the Sundance Film Festival where she hung out with Josh Hartnett at Hyde Lounge. Despite reports of erratic behavior at the festival, sources say Dunst was just displaying her usual "care free party girl antics."

"She was in a big group of friends and they were dancing their ***es off by their table. They looked like they were having a great time and they were getting pretty crazy," said a source at the time.

However, the following day Dunst failed show up to her own Glamour magazine party. A source at the time said the actress "wasn’t feeling well."

A rep for Dunst could not be reached for comment.

The actress's stay in rehab was first reported by Star magazine.

Sorry, but that's not the truth. He had been struggling to stay sober for some time, and it was the problem with Michelle.

As far as "mixing the wrong meds", he overdosed on 5 different pain & sleeping pills, all highly addictive. It's prescription drug abuse according to the medical examiner.

Kiki's been on a downhill slide for some time, her addiction only being interrupted by work. Hope she gets well.

“Nope, not true,” said Gary Fisher, the lodge’s director of operations. He added that while the facility prides itself on refusing to comment on celeb patients, Dunst is definitively not, and never has been, at the center.
Meanwhile, her publicist still has not commented on any of the reports, most of which surfaced at Sundance, where her behaviour was noted as “erratic.” At that time, her rep said she was “fine.”

Well I like her a lot but she always sounded depressed in her interviews.

I think she's a great actress she was so convincing as woman is a girl's body in Interview with the Vampire, that was almost scary.

^ Perhaps, but I still think that's a big generalization.
There are plenty of people in Hollywood who seem nice and, yes, are no bother right throughout their careers!
For actors etc. in the public-eye though it must be very hard to lead normal lives, lets not kid ourselves. Even if we can empathize with them we can't sympathize because we've not been through the same kind of pressures etc.
We might have been through similar ones - even worse ones - but we're not in the same situations and environment so we can't talk. We should try our best not to judge.
I just hope she gets better soon, and stays healthy for her own sake.

. Its common sense to know that you can't figure out a person just at looking at paparazi pictures and promotion interview ; what a person is really about or weither they have substance issues or not.
Our view of celebrities IS very limited.
