I love Bulthaup! I had almost forgotten about them, thanks for the reminder!

I've decided to go with glossy dark red or black cabinets, my designer totally okayed it; he almost seemed relieved I didn't want white or light because it's so predictable to use in small spaces!

I thought this Kitchen is a good idea - not sure how hygenic walking on the counters would be but it looks good!

This unique, open plan kitchen in Victoria, Australia is so open that the countertop is integrated directly into the staircase. The Tattoo House by Andrew Maynard Architects implemented many multi-functional and dual-purpose elements into a flexible living space — but this countertop/stair is probably the most divisive...

I'm not sure I understand the point of the integrated countertop. Visually it looks quite cool, but you couldn't really use the space since it seems quite hard to reach from the kitchen area. It could really only be used for it's purpose as a stair or possible to display something.
