She's basically the younger Helena Bonham Carter
Kristen’s hairstylist ADIR ABERGEL put his own spin on the popular “top knot” hairstyle trend after being inspired to do an upside down braided look! Adir told me that he wanted to give her a little height in the front with an intricate back.
I’ve always been such a fan of Kristen’s hair in braids, and while she doesn’t do it often, when she does — it’s always something new, edgy and fresh. I hope this becomes somewhat of a trend with her.
Want to learn how to create this style? Check out Adir’s breakdown below. It may sound a bit complicated, but if you can really visualize it — you should be just fine!
First begin with dry hair, flip your hair over and start to French braid the back of the hair until you’ve reached the crown area. At that point continue braiding the rest of the hair that is left out of the French braid. You will then fold the braid over the French braid and pin it in place.
Now for the rest of the hair that was not braided ( that is just the hair on top of head) you will take some Fekkai COIFF Sheer Hold Hairspray and spray the roots for some volume. Pull the hair into a top knot leaving volume in the front and secure it in place with some pins right above where the braid ends ( top of the crown).
Spray some Fekkai sheer hold and you are done!
Now for some “key notes” for you, from Adir — it’s very important to make sure the sides of your hair are tight into the upside down french braid. You want the height of your hair to only be found in the front and in the top knot.
thefashion-courtAs for her nails, sadly Kristen’s poor tips were lacking a little love and attention with a fresh coat of polish.
K.Stew’s lacquer was perfectly chipped, and if the color looks familiar to you — it should as she wore the very same shade to the MTV Movie Awards earlier this month. Do you covet this shade for yourself? It’s “Graphite” from CHANEL and available online!
She explained in I don't know which mag that she didn't want to take perfect pictures and chose instead to look real so people would remember her as the girl who had fun (I think she was justifying her last MET).I find it strangely funny that somebody who has been in the business for already quite a long time since early age can still feel so uncomfortable around cameras and act so selfconcious. On the one hand it's a tiny bit cute but then I find it strange as well, I mean people who are nervous presenting at school or university or at work even try to manage and overcome their fears and try to be able to "act" - it's not like I want all public personas to be puppets and machines but I would expect at least some improvement over time and professionalism...her red carpet look is great though - I love the Balmain bustier top a lot, suits her upper body shape perfectly, the skirt is too long as all of you have mentioned already and the hair is gorgeous from behind and I love all the pics Alve posted with that hairstyle great inspiration for some future event but I also agree that her hair does look too messy in the pics showing her face, still it's nice to see her change things up a bit and not seing her with her hair down all the time and the mini-dresses
one of the RARE occasions where the hemline should be at the knee or even slightly above and she wears it like this?!?!
her stylist must be fired.
