L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani S/S 08 NYC

I like the blue dresses with the illusion tartan belts but otherwise...

Plus the school uniform thing is getting soooo tired.

I'm gonna post the little review Cathy Horyn made at her own blog

Last night I bolted out of the L.A.M.B show, nearly knocking over the publicist Paul Wilmot. Sorry, Paul. If ever there was a reason for a pop star to concentrate on her vocal skills, it was Gwen Stefani’s fashion meltdown. Among the words I wrote in my notebook, until my pen came to a stop, were “blob,” “very last season,” “bad secretary,” “astonishingly bad,” and “Ditzville.” I’m amazed—now—I had that much to say.

:lol::lol: yes - it reallly IS bad

I don't like this. I really liked SS 06, though. I wish we had the video of that collection instead of this one. This one is just...someone said it before, but it looks like H&M on the runway. Her SS 06 (and even her SS 07) collection had much more character and seemed to have much more energy, whereas this one seems dreary and the music is not very good...I would have expected better runway music from Gwen. This is just very dull.

i like the elegant goth spin on the school girl uniform, but nothing innovative or cutting edge in this collection.

Hmm. These looks aren't really what I expected from her line (but truth be told, I didn't know WHAT to expect...) I'm not sure if I like it or not. I do see some strong individual pieces but I'm not sure if I'm too keen on the pairings. I know this recieved a lot of press for her so I'm wondering if this collection will be a make/break moment.

I see her lower end lines like HL all the time at TJMaxx. Ick!

if that would be my decision the collection will never again be a part of newyork fw; it's just a bunch of elements brought together without meaning.even children could do it

My respect for this collection grew immensely when I saw the video of the show but like you said, Elia, it does not needs its place during Fashion Week. Doesn't she have a perfume to worry about now, too?

Yea it's a little out dated, but the hairstyles are nice and it's way better then the crap Kimora Lee Simmons and Jennifer Lopez put out.

i find this collection quite tacky... some dresses, i mean their prints make me dizzy. im not into checkered stuff... it really reminds me of mcqueen.. and there are elements of gucci, ysl, balenciaga... the shoes! they look like knock offs. nothing original.. how is this s/s? it looks very f/w... it does look outdated as well..

does she actually design these clothes herself? i doubt it... like she would ever draw outfits...

i dont like her handbags or the harakuju stuff (those annoying, tacky, full of cutesy lesporstac bags)...

I saw the video, and I really liked the music for the show; I liked how some of the outfits go with the music. Made a lot of difference, actually.

Some of it is really cute and wearable. I like some of the shoes. Some is blah, just like in all of her collections. good and bad.
As far as it being groundbreaking or genius, I don't think that is what L.A.M.B. is really striving for. At the end of the day, it's supposed to be wearable and accessible and sell well in the Nordstrom Savvy department.
I actually feel that this season is no worse than any of the others. It does seem like Gwen might need a break, though. I feel like she's doing a little too much..
