i grow up at a pretty snobby all girls school and i have always worn my collar up especially over cashmere jumpers.... is it wrong to do that... or are u talking about ppl who are suddenly trying to be preppy?

No way -- I think if you can pull it off, go for it!

I am definitely talking about the kids who don't have the attitude to carry it off. :innocent:

Every now and then, I pop my collar, too. ;)

LACOSTE!!! Don't get me wrong I like RL polos but for some reason I just don't see them as preppy as Lacoste

I am also a fan of Burberry and Lilly Pulitzer polos

Hey!
I'm a newbie but here in Sydney, Australia; there is only one place that sells Lacoste thus its much more rare to see these tops around than the ever popular Ralph Laurens. Anyways, I like the Lacoste slim fits simply because they are less common around here and also because I reckon it fits me much better.
That's my pt of view though...

having owned more than one hundred items each [at least] by both lacoste & ralph lauren, I will state flatly that lacoste makes the better garment construction and materiel; and that in 'style-radiating' stakes lacoste will ALWAYS give you more juice than the embroidered pony.

Ralph..

but how come this list doesn't include dior cashmere polos?

cause it's about lacoste or ralph polos? lol. just a comparison between those two, but maybe we ought to have a "general" polo thread... :)

polos?

if so you better not forget fred perry tennis polos.

many lacoste collectors like myself will tell you they value their 60s/70s vintage perrys above their 60s-80s lacoste.

what season are the DH cashmere polos from? Would you happen to have any pics, if so can you please post them? Thanks!

Thier actually from the coming season, s/s 05.
I will try and get you some pictures.. :flower:
I still have to scan that mcqueen jacket for faust today as well.

I don't like either, but if I had to choose I'd take a Lacoste polo in white or black, ONLY white or black, and only because it's higher quality. I wouldn't buy one, though....as I said, I don't like either.

Oh I love to see Mcqueen Jacket too... I am dying of Mcqueen Jacket... AMAZING cuts.. can't stress that enough... what holds me back is only the embroideries that you see on it... otherwise I would buy one at any cost... *sigh* Got-to-stop-buying...

yeah the McQueen collection this season seems very well tailored...like the use of more quiet colors too. Not so much a fan of S/S 05 though.

I as well prefer Lacoste... Not only did I wear it for so long as a child, but I also like it because of its originality, even today. I admit I do own a couple of Polo's though... Lacoste also has a longer sleeve and I think that portrays the shirt in a more classic, original manner than the Polo...

Fit of Lacoste vs. RL Polos (Skinny Fit)

In terms of fit, what is the difference between Lacoste polos and Rl Skinny fit polos? And are the sizes pretty much comperable, or do they run a little differently? I want to order a custom RL for a friend's birthday, and I know her Lacoste size, but I'm not sure about the size in the RL. This is women's polos, by the way. :flower:

^ merged into pre-existing topic regarding lacoste vs. rl polos.:flower:

How funny is it that we already had a topic about this?

RL is cheaper and is less of a statement. When I feel like wearing a polo (or they force me to at the country club ), I wear Ralph Lauren. When I feel like wearing LaCoste, I wear Lacoste, because its more of a statement about the brand than the actual shirt.
