^not loving this outfit, she always is styled amazing for videos and editorials, she needs to bring that out more in her appearances. She does look cute in that white lace dress, very young and innocent:flower:Dissapointed she wasnt at the Grammys:(

she is styled brilliantly but outside photoshoots/promotional work she has ZERO style.

I would have thought she'd be like dita von teese and fully embrace her art - seems not.

I actually really like the fact that she's not as stuck up as Dita and wears a pair of flats or sneakers like a boss. B)
I'm especially fond of that outfit with Nikes and leather trousers from a few pages ago and a red Ferrari jacket which she wears often.

Dita is not stuck up at all. She is very frank about her appearance. She has stated that she knows she is not particularly attractive and that current trends in clothes don't suit her, but that she loves she can dress up and accentuate her features through make-up and a certain type of fashion. She is also honest about having had plastic surgery, rather than either a) being too 'above it all' to answer such as question OR b) ashamed to admit it OR c) silly enough to think she can fool people.

Lana just doesn't have much inherent style. She knows the style she likes and can describe it to stylists who dress her for photographs. But when she dresses herself, it's bloody obvious. If you're gonna call yourself the gangsta Nancy Sinatra and emphasize an association with a particular style as part of your brand, you better bring it. I can't stand Gaga, but at least she brings the crazy style 24-7 when she is in public. That is commitment. Seeing Lana on the street and at gigs in 'regular' clothes shatters the mystique and suddenly makes her much less interesting. This is not helped by the current press over-exposure, where her style is further emphasized. But it is kind of her fault as she made image seem so inherent to her product in her marketing. So, I guess, if you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Well, she used the expression "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra" to describe her music and the atmosphere you get from it. And when I see her in real life, I totally see the kind of girls I would imagine in the love stories she sings.

Lady Gaga has nothing to do with Lana Del Rey. The first one created a character, so of course it's a commitment. But Lana Del Rey is more a girl who put herself in her songs IMO, so why would she have to style herself a certain way 24/7, who cares about that? You listen to her album, and you know all you have to know about the girl... The "mystique" is here when she performs on stage and that's the only thing that should matters.

She seems always nervous when she performs...she needs more confidence. But I love her album.

Lana Del Rey May Not Be at Fashion Week But She’s Going to the Met Ball With Joseph Altuzarra

The fashion industry’s love affair with Lana del Rey continues.

While flipping through Friday’s issue of The Daily, waiting for a show to start, I noticed an interesting tidbit in The Fix. The page was loaded with quotes, but my eyes were drawn to one casually thrown in from J.Crew president (and the chicest lady of fashion week), Jenna Lyons. She told the magazine of her Met Ball plans: “I’m going with Lana del Rey and Joseph Altuzarra!”

What!? That is a pretty big deal. Lyons and Altuzarra makes sense–she’s one of the judges for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion fund, which Altuzarra won this year. And I guess we should have known del Rey would end up going on the arm of some designer. Her recent fashion magazine takeover (T, Vogue UK, Lovecat, etc.) at least warrants a Met ball invite, right?

Altuzarra is a young designer who is definitely having a moment right and del Rey’s undeniably having one too (though del Rey’s involves way more haters). Plus, last week, there were rumors that del Rey was postponing a spring tour in the wake of her harshly criticized SNL performance. So, why not establish some more fashion cred in the mean time? We see a few more major magazine covers and maybe a major fashion campaign in her future.

So the question remains: Who is Azealia Banks going with? Or is she too edgy for Anna and friends?

UPDATE: We just heard from Altuzarra’s PR and while they’ve confirmed that Del Rey will be Altuzarra’s date to the Met Ball (and presumably wearing his creations), Jenna Lyons will not. The two are friends and she attended last year’s fete with Altuzarra, Eddie Borgo, and Arizona Muse, but she won’t be officially going with Altuzarra this year. So that’s that.

^ That's an interesting piece because I don't recall Altuzarra ever producing a collection that would suit Lana's style. Let alone his latest one.

so beautiful <3 and yes. her music is great as well xD

She looks amazing in the T style magazine, best look yet! I like listening to her talk in interviews than hear her sing live. Eek its true I can listen to her songs on the radio and what not but live I cringe! I can listen to her talking voice though!

I feel her music is an acquired taste, at first I didn´t like it at all but now I can´t stop listening to her album :)
it´s like her music belongs to a Quintin Tarantino movie, specially Kill Bill...
in some songs, her singing style reminds me of Gwen Stefani´s... which for me it´s a +

I think the song is called Jimmy Gnecco, the singer of Ours and with a solo career lately.
He's amazing, check him out! :flower:

The Del Rey
It’s the morning of our London Fashion Week show and Claridge’s Hotel in London is buzzing with activity! But we just wanted to take a moment to announce some exciting news!
We are launching a new bag, the Del Rey
- inspired by American songstress Lana Del Rey.
Lana has mastered the style of Old Hollywood, mixing it with an edgy sense of fun. This contrast appeals to us: we love mixing eclectic references with classic details in the way that Lana does.
The Del Rey bag is infused with this idea, combined with the easy sensibility and English common-sense practicality of our heritage icons.

Love Lana but having a bag designed after her? That's a bit too much :innocent:
+ this bag is not even that nice, quite disappointed with Mulberry
